First of all, there is nothing we like more than having more people on this, join us in the discord channel

Ok I think I have a suggestion at least about what Jim wants us to see at the museum.

So there is the exhibit called The Decaying Dice of Ricky Jay

http://www.mjt.org/exhibits/rickyjay/rjay.html

Remember how we need to stop the decay, well, if we read the description on the site we learn the following.

Quote:

In the attempt to acquire empirical knowledge, I have accumulated thousands of dice over a period of decades. They are of myriad size, shape, and color and daunting variety: birdseye, bullseye, doughnut, barbudi, poker, baseball, golf, crown and anchor, bell and hammer, drugstore, razor, brushed, feathered, weight, hits, missouts, tops, shapes, polyhedrons, teetotums, and rough-cut unnumbered cubes. They come from diverse sources: generous friends, dealers in collectibles, distraught gamblers ready to embrace a new calling. They are fabricated from different materials, but the vast majority are made of celluloid.

In 1868 John Wesley Hyatt formed a substance from a homogeneous colloidal dispersion of nitric acid, sulphuric acid, cotton fibers, and camphor. It was a substance of great tensile strength capable of resisting the effects of water, oils, and even diluted acids. Hyatt's brother called it celluloid, and it became the first commercially successful synthetic plastic. It was cost-effective to manufacture and could be produced in a variety of attractive colors. Heated until soft and molded into shapes, it became a substitute for products fashioned out of ivory, tortoiseshell, and horn. Perhaps it is best known for its use in motion-picture film, where its volatility has resulted in the destruction of a vast percentage of early footage. But it was also used to fashion removable collars, collar stays, knife handles, guitar picks, piano keys, billiard balls, and, of course, dice.

These cellulose nitrate dice, the industry standard until the middle of the twentieth century (when they were replaced with less flammable cellulose acetate), typically remain stable for decades. Then, in a flash, they can dramatically decompose. The crystallization begins on the corners and then spreads to the edges. Nitric acid is released in a process called outgassing. The dice cleave, crumble, and then implode. Unpaired electrons or free radicals can abet the deterioration. The light and smog of Los Angeles, where my dice have resided for many years, are likely accomplices.

To record the death of my dice I called Rosamond Purcell, doyenne of decaying objects, photographer of taxidermological specimens, memorist of Wunderkammern. Her studio in Cambridge is bedizened with objects troves in various stages of decomposition: Rescued sheets of discarded metal and weather-beaten books that are transformed---by design, by vision, by respect---into objects of great beauty. She has come to know my dice, she has scrutinized them. She has analyzed every nuance of shape and color. She has at once halted their disintegration and catalyzed their resurrection. The dice have never looked better.

Jim also tweeted about a new HD called korn hotdog, http://kornstories.com/

I don't know if it's related but other than the band Korn, which logo is displayed on the site, it's also a famous chess player and author of Modern Chess Openings.

I think the latest thd hold some kind of message, unsure what.

This is just an example it's not very dense and seems spread out in chunks over the entire file.

I've been curious as to the exact times of agent movements, so I've set up a script tracking agent movements which is now checking every 5 minutes and outputting to http://new.norgg.org/files/timeagents.txt

Cool, but just out of curiosity, did you guess the password or something?

Got the security question

An email came in from ltsamuelresistSPLATgmail.com not sure if it's legit or not but for now I'll assume it is:

Quote:
Hey Buddy

You should be getting notification of a delivery of goods pretty soon. Central hopes to have it out within a week. Let me know if anything goes wrong.

Stay frosty,

Samuel

PS: Tell Dwayne he still owes me a rematch on the court and that this time I'm bringing a ref to make sure he doesn't commit any personal fouls.

Occasional lurker. Was wondering if "Dwayne" was a Samuel Clemens reference. It turns out there is an independent Twain scholar named Dwayne Eutsey (who also writes books about how to live like The Dude): his contribution to the Spring 2015 issue of the Mark Twain Journal "corrects an error that has persisted about the date when Clemens first encountered Edward FitzGerald's translation of the Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám, a poem that became one of his literary favorites." The journal's website is here: http://www.marktwainjournal.com. It looks a bit like a Twinbeard creation itself, but it seems legit.

I can only access a preview of the article right now, but Eutsey argues that Twain first encountered excerpts of the poem that were published on December 22, 1875: https://www.questia.com/library/journal/1P3-3598901791/an-immense-revelation-the-correct-date-and-significance. Could be a big coincidence, but the conjunction of Twain, FitzGerald, and Dwayne made me think there might be clues here.

Welcome, I had completely forgot about the Rubáiyát, this is why we need more people. Smile

Another thing, I managed to catch the live stream of alien isolation by lordhuffnpuff.

He was co-streaming with the mario amiibo.

It was just him with a face cam and the game what I could see.

He said that the only people that watches his stream are people who are his friends and people that think it contains secrets

I asked him if he gave away the amiibo and he said yes we just need the time and place.

Once he read something from the alien wikipedia about how xenomorphs can see because they don't have eyes.

But other than that it was basically just him with a face cam and the game
I had a screenshot other than the amiibo but I lost it when my computer crashed.

At least we know we need Mario still.

I'm thinking the museum is the meetup place and we need to find the time.

Jim is on this weeks RPP which he also referenced containing more info about alien isolation.

thd38 is up, but it's a dead link.

Okay, we've got a time. From the ID3 tags in Red Pages Podcast16 with Jim from http://redpagespodcast.com/listen/neil-degrasse-titan:

Genre : A secret hidden in the ID3 tags, hello there friends
Comment : vzthe.pbz/cU1Fd6o

Fed through rot13, the comment is: "imgur.com/pH1Sq6b"

So, we've got a time from Number Six of 2pm (or am??) on February 18th.

Location is still uncertain I think, could potentially be the museum?

In other news, the SciOps page at http://time-travel.club/sciopsnarfblat.html has been updated with:

Experiment 038 - Ocular Replacement and Recovery Sugery
Experiment 039 - P.O.D. Encoding and Encryption Exploration

I'm pretty sure "Experiment 039 - P.O.D. Encoding and Encryption Exploration" is referring to the ROT13ed imgur URL in that Red Pages Podcast.

I'm not sure about "Experiment 038 - Ocular Replacement and Recovery Sugery", but it's possibly talking about the Borg king? I'm still wondering if there is something hidden in the edits to it.

Do we have anyone in LA?

We have an uncertain location being the museum of Jurassic technology

http://www.mjt.org/ It's frankly the only location that we have been given lately.

We have a time

18th of February 2 pm (probably)

Is there anyone who could pass by and check it out, film any shenanigans and possibly pick up an amiibo?

Hahaha, sooooo

I just realised that no one ever looked at the spectrum of the original Kickstarter video, and sure enough:

The first and last codes here ended up on business cards which Jim gave away, presumably out of frustration that we never found them.

They're all base64, decoding the middle one is left as an exercise for the reader.

Also, these clues in the spectrum start at good ol' 0:45.1.

Yes. One gave us the word Butts when entered in the program, the other linked to the next step in the arg

Not likely to be part of the ARG, but interesting nonetheless.

Hey, thanks a bunch, I was really worried we weren't gonna make it.

So basically LordHuffnPuff whom have been writing for frog fraction 2 and presumably this arg has been streamining lately, we are a little bit unsure why, but he has a mario amiibo and when asked he has been hinting about giving it away. We have previously had a Luigi amiibo contain clues that lead to an email that we needed.

His stream description is >Acquire Goat, we don't know what that means, but maybe it's clear when you get there?

Before we had to choose between mario and luigi maybe its the same this time.

Also, maybe be ready to film if you can, we have had Jim being kidnapped by time travelers once before so there might be something like that going on as well.

This is what lordhuffnpuff looks like,

But yeah, sorry for rambling it's really late, thanks again!
