PM Secrecy

If you're concerned about keeping the IDs of your PMs and BTS people secret, make sure not to use normal email methods where your IP is exposed. There are several mail services out there which will mask your originating IP. A cheapo AOL account is also a good option and the geographical area is generally untraceable. Yahoo Mail and the like _will_ show your IP. Proxy servers are another option to keep your IP private.

If you're running a personal web server on your home machine, be doubly sure that you don't reveal your IP on outgoing mails if you're trying to keep your identity secret.

Remember cookies. If you're signed into Yahoo Mail, you will also my signed into other Yahoo services, like Games. It might be a better option to have a browser that you use solely for game stuff.

IP addresses on message boards can be seen by administrators and moderators.

Referrer logs can show people were you come from. Keep that in mind if you link to another page from someplace you don't want discovered.
