...So, you've basically just told the PMs that uploading multiple Wordpress pages at once, like with a "page A" with a download that hints towards "page B" that leads to "page C" etc, should not be done because you or someone else will use that trick to instantly post all three.

Now, what, will they have to slowly trickle in new pages one by one once the community catches up to them?

There's no real need to argue about this anymore. Yes, it will probably mean for any new content the PM's will need to be physically there to press "the big red shiny button", which in the end may slow things down by a bit. In the end it's Natas's choice. We'll all just have to agree to disagree.

I think the PMs are telling us "no harm, no foul," so I suggest we forge ahead. Smile

Since I can't run the text game (I'm on a Mac), how about some rampant speculation? Foily!

Have we done much in the way of speculating about "what's going on" here? My read of it is that we are somehow seeing/receiving messages from the future? A future in which Lunar Labs's project has been developed and...what, exactly? Is used for...murder? Espionage? Other nefarious things?

Yeah that's what it means. I sent them an email saying they should probably post here on unforum or elsewhere about their opinion on the matter as it is their game. In the end there's really nothing the PM's can do about the situation (according to their OOG email to me).

Anyways Nick says that he doesn't remember if he did code an ending to the game. Though I think he gave me a clue who I should ask about the game also.

As far as I can tell, the first indicator seemed to be the LUNAR project is being used in the future as more of a "sectioned" info type of cell type. You play the game being anybody and they can give you mission objective's according to their own interests.

Ex: In the LUNAR system your a secret agent, and they tell you about a target you are to eliminate that's a "character". Little does the person know that person is somewhat a resistance leader to LUNAR. etc.

Though I'm not sure if that's the correct way to see it as we now have some parallel universe stuff and maybe time travel into the mix now?

Let's forgive and forget. At the end of the day, if we feel anyone has gotten information unfairly we can always choose to ignore it and continue as normal no need for a fight. I suggest the PMs just continue on with the way they're going and we continue on with ours. Let's not fall out over a mistake.

My guess is in espionage, I am a mac user as well, i have a pc at work, but hardly time to play the game, the only thing i had the time to do, is how much time do you have before you get to the I am Sorry Screen, it seems about 5 minutes and 30 seconds

I was also considering this Lunar Labs tweet:
Quote:
What are your plans for this week? Don't forget, not even the sky is the limit!

which was retweeted by all four of the LL folks. Might it be a clue to the text game? Forgive my blind suggestions, having not seen the actual game: Have people tried "up" as a direction? Or maybe one of the rooms is related to the sky? Based on Thunderwolf's summary of the room texts, I don't see a relationship, but maybe one of you clever folks will think of something.

As far as I can tell the only commands that have responded from the program are just going a compass direction. Going up or down doesn't get a response from the game as far as I tested it.

Also there's no feasible way to order the lyrics of the song in order without passing over another one. I even tried a safe combination try by running around the board and touching each of the lyrics in a clockwise-counterclockwise direction shift. I also did it the opposite way too. I feel it has something to do with the lyrics as their the only big constant in the game taking around 1/3 of the entire board.

I even tried matching the second half of the speech to the first half to finish up the whole thing. Sadly, the box only accepts a limited amount of words and there was no indication that it was the right thing to do.

There might be a specific command you have to use for the questions, but beyond basic commands as "say", "speak", or "tell", That I've tried. I've found no way to answer the questions themselves.

Wordpress has shortlinks for everypage and every image you post to it. They start off at www.examplewordpresssite.com/?p=1 (usually the hello world post) and ?p=2 ?p=3 etc etc.

So we can literally see anything you post on WordPress. Just sayin. It also will stop confusion as to "Are we supposed to find this yet.)

Still kinda cheap though. Like stealing money from the banker in a game of Monopoly. To be honest though, Wordpress is a CMS designed primarily for blogging rather than full-on websites, so maybe it's not ideal, but still, let's just stick to the spirit of the game rather than trying to win/advance at all costs.

But anyway, back on topic.

Although the folks at Lunar seemed to patch things up, I've noticed Nick's still mudslinging at George occasionally.

And we still don't know who is sending out the "weird" mails. Any thoughts on that? Maria? Nick? Someone we've not even encountered yet? the LUNAR program itself?

On the subject of the text adventure, it's interesting to note that if you enter room 11 from the north, it doesn't give you the option to return north. However if you travel east from that location and then return west, north is available. Not sure if this is a bug or not.

Hi all just checking in quickly. Did we ever get a response on the email asking nick if there was an end to the text adventure?

Not sure, but if anyone has, they haven't posted on here about it.

And gonna ask again if anybody has that image from the "library" or "mozart" pages either saved to their computer or still in their cache. Just for completion of the wiki.

I thought I had mentioned it before but Nick's response was

So yeah, since Nick had asked if Maria was the one who gave it to us. I sent an email asking Maria if she remembered if it had an ending.

I fired off an email to Nick reminiscing about my own early days of programming (all games programmers start with text adventures Wink ) and mentioned that I used to put in special "cheat codes" - hidden commands which allowed me to exploit the games. I asked if he ever did similar things. Maybe there's a hidden command we need to type.

I've tried typing in things like "why", "stop", "wait", "fly" etc. but nothing untoward happened.

Just got a reply from Nick about the programming and the relationship with George:

Nick Bristol wrote:

hi karl,

oh yes! my fist games were super basic shoot em ups or "click" games and of course text adventures! good old times Smile

i don't remember the exact commands of my first text adventure games, but i know that i always did funny layouts of the "map". i think there was one text adventure where the layout was the key to solve it, but i think i ve never finished it.

well, even though we had a big and good talk - things are still a bit odd, but i don't really care about it anymore. i am happy to work on the LUNAR project and a project of this scale, needs some weirdness once in a while haha

-nick
My emphasis added. So it's definitely something t do with the layout. Perhaps that roman numeral suggestion is worth investigating.

Yo, lurker here, catching up while on a slow da at work. Hi! Just wanted to point out that on a German keyboard, X and Y are in fact next to each other (German keyboards being QWERTZ rather than QWERTY).

Dunno if it's relevant at all to be honest, but my two cents.
