We get updates on when Entries are posted, which is more like advertising. There hasn't been any Q&A in a long time & there was very little to begin with. I would argue that those few questions that Troy answered were more like a Mail Bag Episode than actual interaction. So, again, I don't see anything significantly different from a TV series. Totheark? A spinoff series that occasionally crosses over.

EDIT: Oh, & that's not even taking into account the interviews, the DVDs with extra features, the status updates & "non-spoilery screenshots," & so on. The 4th wall pretty much shattered a long time ago.
