This makes sense. "Lead me to the Ark" was perhaps Hoody's way of saying "Once I have guided you to your death, Jay, I can die as well". Then Tim and Alex will confront and kill each other, ending it all.

This assumes that Seth, Amy, Sarah?, and Jessica are also gone.

The problem with this is that in Entry 26, it sure seemed like Alex had been living a happy, TO-free life with Amy. That is, until she turned on the camera, which brought TO back into his life. Conceivably, if she hadn't used the camera, that TO-free life could have just continued, unless Jay brought him back into the game.

Now, whether its the camera, or the emotions that the camera causes is another thing. If it's the latter, then it could be that the pills that Tim takes are anti-anxiety medication, which helps keep his fear and anxiety at bay, thus keeping TO at bay. Perhaps Hoody seems to be mostly unaffected by TO because he's learned to eliminate that fear. This could play into what he "says" in Entry 68, when he has a text overlay that says: "You are afraid. I am not."

If fear draws TO to someone, then eliminating fear could be the way to eliminate TO.

Great theory. Does anyone think the whole "Last Chance" Hoody marker'ed onto Tim's mirror has any relevance? Was it just goading him into settling things on his own terms so, as has been proposed, Hoody wouldn't have to?

That was originally directed at Jay, I believe.

This is similar to my theory with the only difference being mine allows having your memory wiped of all TO events in order to live. TO doesn't want anyone to know he exists.

But I don't think Jessica ever comes into contact with the Operator until that night in the hotel, after she and Jay are held at gunpoint. When he attempted to kill Jay and Jessica, I still think that was to cover up the murders influenced by the Operator.

Other than that the theory is well thought out. Ive seen this before, but not in depth, and not with the idea that the characters are aware of the fact that they need to die.

I think it was more along the lines of he knew Jay got Jessica involved with his investigation when he asked for her number. He even tries to tell Jessica that Amy is fine in entry 44 so she doesn't get involved, but in entry 47 when Jay forces Alex's hand to get her number, he knows she will be a part of all this.

But after Entry #18, Tim as Masky apparently abducts Jay and takes him to the house, where Jay sits in a trance as TO walks right by. Have no idea what that means, but it doesn't seem as if TO was interested or even regarding Jay.

this was not the house but jay's Apartment back then.

No, in Entry#24 he goes through a door, doesn't come out the other side, and returns to his bedroom to crash several hours later without ever leaving the front door of his apartment. But look at "Return" (I think it's called), which is a response to Entry #19. That doesn't take place in Jay's apartment. It appears to take place back at the house.

it was "return" indeed, but the hallway jay is sitting in is very well lit, considering the house had no power,as you might recall Wink

Again I will state the concept that in season 1 they had no idea how things were going to pan out and not everything from season 1 should be taken as direct canon when it comes to things that happen later on. They could build around things from season 1 that they scrapped, but they can't go back and erase them from history.

Yes, but look at the layout and the light itself. Jay's slumped against the front door of the house in "Return"; Oppy comes out the room immediately to the left, which had a big bag of garbage in it and is close to the stairs leading to the second floor. See where Jay looks in Entry #16 after he recovers from his coughing fit.

Now, as for the light--it doesn't seem to be an overhead light. It seems to be portable and may be a strobe light (either that or that effect was added in editing). The light was likely brought there by TTA to film this response.
