does anyone cosplay as a female version of Jay?

Not of Jay, no.

Well, actually: http://wolfythevampire.tumblr.com/post/81927817503/now-that-i-think-about-it-my-best-most-popular-cosplay

Invoking Rule 63 here: for every fictional character that exists, on the internet there will always be an opposite gender version.

(I'm not usually into cosplay, but that girl does it pretty well.)

Can't even tell that's supposed to be genderswapped Jay. Thought she was cosplaying herself in a coat.

She has the hat and the camera, and the general colour scheme right. Problem is, Jay isn't massively distinctive in how he looks anyway, so there's not a whole lot more you could do to to make yourself more Jay-like. Well, short of painting a bullet hole on yourself.

I also have that same feeling that Jay might be alive. Not everything is as it seems in Marble Hornets.

Really? those weirdly spaced eyes?

I'm used to Bleach, so I've got some high-ass standards on what makes somebody dead. But seriously, by all accounts, Alex, Jay, Tim, & Brian should have all died a long time ago, yet they did not. Until I find out why they survived, I'm not writing off anyone of plot significance.

While I also believe that Jay (and Hoody as well) is still alive and I base this off his reaction to getting shot. Now, we know that he got shot in the upper left lung, possibly close to his heart. Seeing a blood was coming out of the wound, we can presume that his heart is still beating and therefore unaffected by the bullet (although, I've never seen that much blood come out of an entry wound). His running doesn't mean much to me as I've seen many a dead deer run (30-06 soft point through a heart (couldn't tell as it looked like satanic jello) and it ran for a full minute before dropping.), but the fact that he quickly stopped shows me that he was concerned with nursing his wound. In fact, he was applying pressure to the entry and potential exit wound. That itself as helpful gun shots inflicted on people cause death through blood loss.

We saw a pretty dead-looking Jay in 83, though. But then again, considering that sequence defied most laws of MH reality...

That said, I'm pretty sure getting shot in the lung can kill you.

People have two lungs, so in summary...

Does anyone remember what Tim said about Jessica? That, whether or not she is actually alive, "she has to be dead to us?" Same deal with Jay, honestly. Once you've been taken by The Operator, it's over. You're done with the game, and are out.

I'm pretty sure losing even one of your lungs can kill you. Lungs aren't kidneys- I don't think you can manage with just one spare.

Of course, I could be entirely wrong and someone who actually understands the human body better might be cringing right now. But that was my impression.

You can survive with only one lung. You just couldn't continue to be the pro chain smoker that Tim was in Entries #64 and #69, for example.

I'm just going off my experience as a deer hunter. I've learned that a body can take a lot before it dies.
