Those characters are very odd. They look like a partial hash... also what does the c stand for as we know d6 is district 6.

There are also a few values that have been changed in the script itself, if you compare to the previous countdowntochina. The new values are 21 55 7c c4.
Not sure where that leads us though...

Well c4 is a type of explosive. I suppose that it could be used in the delivery method of telek but i guess that's a bit too farfetched...

also, '21557cc4' is a crc32 hash for 'olympicpark'

leads us to...

Is it just me or does the "graphical interference" at the bottom of the image on the manx prison page look like morse...?

The latest from Aimee 2014:

Quote:
Hi Julie,

Last week I would have thought that sounded implausible but now I don't know what to think.

So I'm going to run a company that will one day kill millions of people?!

I hope to God I am simply unaware of it and not guilty. I can't imagine what would posses me to do something like that.

Let's hope it never comes to that.

I managed to steer some of the bosses at AstraZeneca away from the idea of merging with Pfizer, in light of the things you and your associates had said.

I know I didn't have proof then, but I couldn't get it out of my head. Something made me certain that I had to stop the deal.

I have for now anyway, but who knows where it will go...

Please, tell me what it is I end up doing?

I emailed her back telling her what we know of so far.

Hello! I'm a tad late to the party, but I just found out about this over on Reddit. I've read through the posts, any way I could quickly join in?
EDIT: I translated the morse code at the bottom of the Manx Prison page.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"TIETAWNGMN" > "SUBSIDENCE". It was a cryptogram. I tried entering it at the end of the url like /telekpoison/, but that didn't appear to work.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the group, and nice idea!

My difficulty is that the "morse" has quite uneven spacings, so can be translated a few ways. For example, my first read of it gave: "TEUAWNGMTE". There are then quite a number of possible cryptograms due to the small number of repeated characters.

I'd be interested to hear what other people see.

What cryptogram did you use?

I was also thinking about Why So Serious with the circled text.

Counting the number of letters in each gives you the numbers 9, 6, 3, 11 (or 9, 6, 3, 5, 6)

Spells out IFCK and IFCEF, neither of those worked

Could be a different angle? I'm just working out some other things it could be.

I used the smallest square as a reference for spacing.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://imgur.com/SKawxf5 (Be sure to move over the half of the - when doing the last line so you don't get ...) The slashes are just to show where I put spaces.

But I might be wrong about this whole thing, it IS my first ARG after all.

I used _this_ for the cryptogram, and _this_ for the morse code.

longtime lurker here - lots of these puzzles are way too techie for me and it's so much fun (and impressive!) reading through the solutions and following the game.

thought i'd take a stab at the morse code: i get NUAWNGM, with the last character either an E an S or an I. i used the anagram solver and the only solution i came up with was "Win Maung" - tacked that onto the URL and got nothing.

could it be that it's not morse at all? morse does seem pretty simplistic, given the relative sophistication of the other puzzles. the pattern of "dots" and "dashes" almost seems like it could be reversed or reflected on itself. maybe it's an image? maybe it's a "what comes next in this series" kind of puzzle? i'm going to try to run it through some image filtering, but i'm at work so i may not get very far. will post again if anything interesting shows up!

That's a good idea. In my opinion, the morse was a tad farfetched, but at least we tried it out.
I sent an email to 2014 Aimee (just a simple greeting), but I haven't received a reply as of yet.
im jill by the way, hi guys!
edit: removed strike lol

As I said it was only a suggestion Wink

I also tried it as binary but no luck. Welcome on board. You keep using strikethrough in your posts though Laughing

Thanks. Glad to be here. Very Happy
I tend to use strikeout a lot, it's weird.

Maybe the next "clue" will be an email from someone?

Coffee (EDITED: For a correction after a more careful reading.) In the "olympicpark" page there's an email discrepancy/typo (aimee.youngSPLATfeaglobal.co.uk). I emailed future Aimee about it hoping for an explanation and some addn'l info on that recent email exchange with Declan.

Future Aimee wrote:
That simply looks like a transmission error to me, though you were right to be suspicious.

When communicating with sleeper cells and other agents in the field, 'they' often used mis-spelled words or extra letters in the articles in their daily newspapers, so it's good that you're noticing small errors. They're nothing to most people, and they often went unnoticed, but the trained eyes were looking for it.

Well done in noticing this; it makes me think you'll be valuable in the future! And about that email; I'm guessing you know about D6 now. I feel like I should explain myself because I don't come off very well on paper.

It's difficult to explain to someone outside of the situation, but I'll try: The New Chinese Empire were built-up to be a threat to the whole world (and let's face it, they could wipe us all out in an instant if they wished to). 'They' played on this fear, and used it to control the UK. FEA were asked to develop something that could be used against the NCE if needed; Telek.

And let me tell you Amandel, that when the fear is that strong, and the responsibility is that heavy, you will do anything you have to. We needed an environmental test in a built-up area. I suggested D6, thinking that we would do it on a day when the stadium was empty.

'They' had other ideas, and decided to disguise the whole thing as a terrorist attack, intent on taking out the Queen. If I had known they were going to do that I would have suggested a different place, but it was too late. I know that either way I was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people, but it was all in the name of the greater good.

When you're made to believe that your country might be wiped out at the hands of an enemy, it's easier to make decisions that would normally sicken any right-minded person. I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but I'm simply hoping that this revelation won't sway you from helping me.

It was in the wake of this attack and Zach's ordeal, that I decided to start helping the people I'm with now. D6 was one thing, but what came after it wasn't in the name of the 'greater good'. It was then that I realised what they were really planning to do with Telek.

Aimee
