Agent Status

Yes there were tests although technically they were not on the 'books' so to speak, R&D were not involved.  Testing was done on convicts that were for the drop in exchange for exile should they survive the testing.

The drug gives clarity of thought but at considerable cost since withdrawal is death, the body drys out and eventually crumbles into a black dust.  The test subjects spoke of being connected to something larger than themselves, unfortunately convicts are not very good at descriptions unless it involves describing the other guy that did the crime.  However we had a more learned subject who was able to describe what the drug imposes upon one, she said that it was like being part of a gestalt intelligence with a being of light (One) at the top of structure that imposes its will upon all others.  I understand this subject was given quite a large dose to begin with, it is possible that she imagined the 'One' although there are parts to the Janus Archive that shows a consilience of data suggesting a 'One' shaped hole in history.  Still we have never seen any direct evidence supporting the theory of the 'One' other than the nutty religious notations of Max Drum and his followers regarding the 'One'.

In subjects that we gave smaller dosages to over a period of several months showed symptoms of unnatural hungers and violent tendencies when they were not fed.  One subject ate live rats whilst another would only eat insects saying that they were the One's food of the gods he died later of a internal bleeding many insects were found in his stomach undigested.

All test subjects died, from one of following: withdrawal symptoms, internal bleeding, organ failure, suicide (one subject scratched his eyes out and push his fingers into the sockets until he bled to death), drowning and fright (at least the man's expression suggested such a thing).

You are unlucky that you have done so well Agent Russell I would never have inflicted such horrific details upon you if you were still just a peeler in from the streets.

One last item, the black dust of a dead test subject can be used to reduce the addiction but not stop it.  This was discovered by pure accident with another test subject who was found eating the body of another subject, he became almost normal for a time.  Black Dust is on the streets at a very high price I believe.

We hope that you do not scare easily.

 		Nice booba. So I know what to look for in the future how did you find the code? Was it simply a matter of opening it in Winamp and checking the properties? Unfortunately I wasn't able as laptop died so just phone access atm.

Lots of updates today but the main one requiring action is a new artistic task....gulp.

Will try and create something but with one hand and a lack of artistic skill, it won't be pretty!

On another subject all together it appears that the penal colony on Ganymede is in uproar after several inmates and guards witnessed an orange vortex in the sky which ejected a massive asteroid and a satellite. Astronomers on Callisto have identified both objects, the asteroid is that of 19880 which went missing in 2011 and the satellite is none other than Corcas's Breadth of God designed mostly by Max Drum. You may wonder whether he was worried about the asteroid, known a HL 129, which hurtled passed us early morning on Saturday. It seems nobody bothered to tell the public of its potential doom, it passed within 186,000 miles.

Corcas's Breadth of God was supposedly designed to capture asteroids by pushing them into an orbit that would come closer enough to the Earth so that they could be mined. The Empire denies all involvement in the original project.

I spent just a few minutes with the known sound files in Audacity and didn't see anything real obvious. Will look a bit more as time allows.

Breaking it down further:

Unexpected arrival: could be a birth and would link in with foilheads post
confuses: in a cryptic crossword usually signifies an anagram
Jester:could be a fool or comedian not just a jester

The wording in the blog post also mentions shaking as does the foilhead post.

Ok so I went back through the game history and the lady "shakes" is definitely the Carrie brown I linked above. I had forgotten that in this universe that the ripper murders happened in 1969.

The last diary excerpt from Mary before the last OOG break was:
