One thing that's pretty dumb is Alex says "you know where to find me"

Which isn't true, otherwise Tim wouldn't have spent 6 weeks waiting around...

I have to assume dumb is what they're going for. I mean the guy was literally surrounding himself with lighter fluid in an enclosed space and challenging someone who, for all he knew, had gone crazy again. I think Alex is just in "IDGAF" mode at this point.

And this isn't really relevant to anything, but I think they were on to something when they had Tim playing the banjo. In-game it wouldn't have made sense to do this, but if they had put the audio of him playing over the next couple of clips of him, that would have been pretty cool.

My best guess is that when Alex says "you know where to find me", that tells Tim that Alex will be waiting in some significant place (Rosswood, the hospital) instead of in hiding. Instead of having to wait for Alex to appear, now Tim is in control of the "when" in regards to their confrontation..

Probably been pointed out, but remember that JAY'S house burned down as well?!

And I have a feeling he was talking to the Operator, not Tim, but I guess the ending proved me wrong. How many more entries are left?

Tim didn't even seem to have a knife, which even Jay usually had. Why lead the guy with a gun to your house, enter the house after him so you can catch him by surprise, then when his back is turned, just do nothing? Tim's smarter than this.

I think it's one thing to be a tough guy in the abstract and be all "come fight me bro" behind a keyboard, and quite another thing to actually have a person with a gun and the clear intent to kill you in your house. I can completely believe that Tim told himself he could jump Alex only to find he just couldn't bring himself to do it at the last moment.

Interesting point about this Entry: we almost never see Alex's face. He's got his back to us all the way through the house, when he lights the porch he's standing in the dark with the brim of his hat pushed down, and the one tiny glimpse we get is caught in the glare from the fire. Obviously he hasn't literally lost his face, but speaking metaphorically it's an interesting reversal: this series started with a guy filming himself in his house waiting for a creepy faceless guy to show up, and this entry was about... well, much the same sort of thing, really.

How about Tim somehow ends killing Alex, then he becomes insane to the point where we never hear from him again. This would fit what Alex said about "killing everyone" so nicely.

How is it dumb for Alex to say that when so much of the series--including the sites of Alex's attacks on other members of the MH cast and crew, many TO appearances, and much of the warping in Entry #83--took place at Tim's old hospital or the woods of Rosswood Park near the hospital? Those are the most logical guesses. Tim had been trying to draw Alex out, not the other way round.

Agreed on Alex's mood. But I think it's fair to say he's been in that mood for a while. (Or that if he gives a fuck about anything, it's doing what he thinks will end this.)

Geneaux486, were you making a duelling banjos reference? Otherwise, I'm not sure I follow you.

I like that analysis! First the shadow in #80, now this.
Still leaves open the question of why Alex, and not Tim, if Tim indeed was the source for all of this.

And also the timeline issues I mentioned. If it were to make sense that Alex burned Jay's appartment, #26 became dubious, maybe even fabricated*. If not, who the hell else burned Jay's appartment. Tim?

* This just appeared to me, to please bear with me if I start to sound more incoherent than usual.

As I mentioned in my other post, Alex seems to switch between "trying to figure this all out" and "trying to kill anyone involved" between the original shooting of MH, and the shooting in #52 (whatapun), after which he is on the "kill everything" track.
I particulary wondered why he first seemd to burn Jay's appartment, then got attacked by TO due to Amy, then reached out for Jay to help him, and then left him out of the loop and decided to kill him.
AND I also couldn't figure out how to put #37 into this.

Now, I combine those idea under term of "fabricated tape".
#84 Showed us some old Alex footage, that had some TTA elements in them (traffic lights, chalkboard). Even though these elements are highly disputable, some people suggested that oher TTAs using this elements to mock Alex, to show him that TTA does know more about Alex.

And it was also suggested that #37 could be edited by TTA, instead of being genuine footage. Why would he do that? Well, again, to mock Alex, to tell him "I know what you did there." But when was Alex faking footage of TO interference? (Except for the also dubious #22) My new guess: #26.

I do not mean to suggest that #26 was entirely edited by Alex, but I suggest that maybe it was no accident that Amy found the camera. Alex somehow placed it there for Amy to find it, knowing that TO would appear and ... do his thing. Why? To send Jay this tape and portray himself as a victim, so that he could make Jay team up with him and lure Jay into Rosswood to finish him off.

Yes, it is rough around the edges, but it would make Alex's character more consitent. Because under this reading, he would be killing mad ever since he found out about the YouTube channel, trying to get and kill everyone involved into this. We don't have to worry anymore why Alex was sometimes "friendly" and then hostile in Season 2. He was hostile all along, ever since #25. (Or probably since #71) But since he saw that everyones memories were "gone", he relaxed. Until he saw the youtube channel. After that, he started his ever intensifying quest to kill every MH related memory.

So, how far fetched sounds this?

I get what he was saying. The banjo playing over the next couple of clips would have just given more... "environment" to the scene. For lack of a better term... It would just fit nicely.

Any way, I hate to say this, because I have hated Alex since Entry #49 or so. However, he was kind of on to something when he told Tim that he had to die in order for this all to be over with. Because, he IS the source of everything that has happened (most likely, due to his confession in Entry #66.) But with that said... I DON'T WANT TIM TO DIE. Even if he is the source of all of this happening to the rest of the crew, he doesn't seem like he MEANT for it to. As far as I see it, Alex is still the asshole here. Surely there's another way to stop this other than Tim's death... I hope.

I think it would have been nice to see some of the more recent clips (Jay's Murder, Alex's Arson) go up on a website like LiveLeak instead of Youtube. Youtube makes it unrealistic.

Not a big deal by any means, but I think it'd have been a nice touch.

Carry on.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
And for what it's worth, no reason for Tim to not go to the police and be like "Hey, look at all this cray evidence. Arrest Alex pls."

Shocked Silly Whoa, that last part just realized that it all came full circle.

And those of you stating that "Alex was the one who burned Jay's apartment", it wasn't; it was TTA.

I'm pretty sure nobody has ever gone to the police in this series because:

A). TheIn-Game police would believe that the videos are fake.

B). Even if the police did arrest Alex or whatever, Alex could easily make an escape due to the Operator.

C). Plus the police would probably end up getting killed by Alex's shenanigans, and nobody wanted to be responsible for that.

No reference, I just think footage of Tim bumming around the house while a sad tune plays on his banjo would have been kinda profound.

EDIT: Yeah, Teedub got it.

There's a lot of "coming full circle" about this entry. It's like we're coming back around to the start of this loop of unhappiness.

So for a depressed teenager to break the loop of unhappiness he has to become a dead twenty-something? Holy shit, karma sucks.
