Re: My Theory For Why This is All Happening

So, with the whole "You're the 'source' it's your fault" thing, I'm pretty much assuming that a) Tim is the "cause of the Operator and Alex is trying to "get rid of it." My guess is that anyone who has started showing the symptoms is somehow a "secondary" source that would still do what Tim is apparently doing (IDK, has Alex ever shown them? To my knowledge, it's just been the masks and Jay).

I'm not sure how this plays into Alex seemingly being teamed up with the Operator, but I'm assuming that will be better explained when we know what the Operator is/wants/where it came from.

If this turn out to be even partially true, I wonder if it will play in at all with the film.

Well, think about it: Alex would never have had anything to do with TO (most likely--enttry #37 aside) had TO not jumped onto him from Tim.

As for symptoms... You mean the coughing, behavioral changes, paranoia? Alex has shown them throughout the series.

I'm going to address this as nicely as I can. People keep bringing this up as a loose thread. It isn't. 'Skully' is either an early prototype of Hoody/TTA, or a character they dropped because they (Trosephim) changed their minds about them. That would be a dropped subplot; not a thing they need to resolve later. There's nothing to resolve. Especially if it was a proto-Hoody.

I liked this entry, but wish it went into more detail/went on for longer. Once again, not sure why it took so long to get this out, seemed fairly simple.

Good acting from Joseph, cool moment with the fire. Next entry seems to be the last one, not sure if we're going to get the ending we all want though.

They probably had to wait a while for Tim to get his sideburns back

Hi
I've been a lurker for two years, and I thought today I will contribute in this entry's discussion

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but if it has been, please ignore completely, but this is what I gained from entry 85

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Which was like, whoa, how on earth did they make that fire and control it?? I guess we now know what stupid thing they did on twitter

my brain is a bit dumb right now, but I'll try to word my thoughts as best as I can;
So alex, haunted by the operator and continuously stalked, decides that there is someone who is responsible for bringing the operator to him. with that in mind, he spends years, killing those who he believes may have been 'the source', and believes that by killing the source, the operator will stop. he kills seth, sarah, jessica, and jay, believing that while he hunts one by one down, one of them might have been the source. when after killing jay and realizes that he is still having the presence of the operator by him, he then comes to the conclusion that it is tim who is the source. if he had known this sooner, he would have killed tim and others may have been spared.

But you know, this is just a random thought I had. it kind of contradicts with some of the earlier entries I think, so I don't know.
basically in a way, I think Alex has been contorted by the operator (and behaviour changed to aggression by the operator as seen in entry 82) and he's just sick of it. he's trying to stop the operator by killing the source

just my two cents. Confused

Jesus Christ, hostile much? Fuck you, you are contributing to nothing and adding unnecessary drama. He said he liked the entry, for fuck's sake...

I said before that I thought Tim would find Alex in either the Hospital or Rosswood. After thinking about it for awhile, I'm leaning towards the hospital, mainly because of the way Tim reacted to it in #83. The way he so forcefully asserted that he didn't belong there makes me think the truth might be the opposite. Not that he should be locked away now; rather, I believe he already had mental/emotional problems, which drew the Operator to him to begin with.

Or, TO really is a manifestation from Tim's psyche, which I suppose could make all of it "his fault".

Maybe I'm just sick of all of his bullshit and see no reason to give him the respect pretty much any other member on this form actually deserves.

How can you look at what happened at this entry and go "Yeah, pretty simple, shouldn't have taken this long"? He's showing a complete lack of understanding of how things like this are done. Yeah sure, maybe saying fuck you was a bit much, but honestly, at this point, I don't really give a damn. Disrespect breeds disrespect. We've all begun tiptoing around how much of an asshole he is and I honestly just don't give a fuck about that anymore. Nothing has been done about his behaviour. No warnings given. He's been given free reign to be a condescending dick for so damn long. So I have no regrets saying "Fuck you".

10/10 would antagonise again.

I can see your point about respect, but look at it this way: it's derailing the thread even before he gets the chance to, which I would say is counterproductive.

Back on topic. When he was so close behind an unaware Alex, I totally expected Tim to bust him in the face with the camera and take the gun off him.

Yeah, probably. For what it's worth I'm going to drop it here. But we all knew it was going to happen anyway. And therein lies the problem.

Except that there's no evidence for the Skully thing being a proto-Hoody or a dropped character. This series has an incredible attention to detail (like Alex's shoes/Tim's shirt), so I personally doubt they would just drop a character they gave blatant screen-time, and who is wearing a different mask than the two we know and love.

Hell, that's probably why they brought Seth back in S3; the convenient thing about this series is that a lot of the scheming and stuff goes on behind the scenes. We usually get one point of view each entry while all other characters' machinations are done off-screen.

I, for one, would be pissed right off if they ended the series and said, "Oh yeah, that third masked man with a distinct mask you guys have been theorizing about for three years? Yeah, that was just an early idea we had for Hoody, ignore the discontinuity, and sorry about that." Hell no.

Just remembered something I was wondering:

Why were Tim's headlights on before he got in his car?

Another impressive entry - I don't understand any compliants about how much time it took for this to get done. The boys have work and school - these things take pirority, even with the Kickstarter.

"I'm going to find him" - NOT OMNIOUS AT ALL. VERY SUBTLE, TROSEPH, VERY WELL PLAYED.

Jack Slenderman wrote:
I'm guessing he blames Tim because he was the original source of the operator. The Operator drove Alex to crazy town and killed everybody. So because Tim slendy infected him, he blames tim for all of his misdeeds.

To unpack this further:
- It's entirely possible that Alex hadn't realised Tim was the source of TO until Tim uploaded Entry 84. There's no reason to assume that Jay is the only one whose memories of the MH production process is patchy - the audition sequence seems to be news to Tim, after all - so perhaps Alex genuinely didn't realise until now that Tim was the one who brought him in contact with TO originally,
- When have we seen the Operator killing anyone? If anything, people have had terrifyingly intense encounters with it - see Jay running directly at TO in the hotel room, for instance - but no matter what, they seem to come back alive afterwards. I think the Operator eats people's memories but doesn't physically harm them at all; consistently, the only person we have seen doing that is Alex. So I think this is part of Alex's usual thing of blaming everyone except himself; the killings were all Alex's idea as a desperate way to appease a sinister force which really didn't need anyone killed, but was happy to collect the bodies anyway (perhaps to snack on residual memories at leisure, perhaps because TO just about understood that the dead bodies were intended as gifts/tribute, who knows).
