Well, now I feel stupid! Went completely over my head. I thought you meant Silhouette as in a traditional silhouette being a black shape on a light background, hence the confusion. I am a dunce.

Christian has replied to let me know who Charlie is:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's him. Apparently that was his birth name but his parents quickly decided they'd made a mistake so started calling him Christian instead.

Unfortunately I've not yet heard back from Keith with more information on where his first job was based.

Well, there are four members in each group – maybe that has some significance?

About Keith's security question: I asked Samantha where he had worked before, but she couldn't remember. However, she said that she "was sure I could figure it out." So I feel like the answer is somewhere obvious, I just don't know where!!

Interesting. Trisphere's press releases all mention Washington D.C. but that's the only reference to geographical locations I can remember. Was he maybe alluding to a real company when he gave you the brief outline of his career?

Unless Keith has a LinkedIn or similar? I'll go check.

This is all he said about that other company:
Quote:
I went to work for a company that made industrial-grade laxatives, and I learned an amazing amount of things from that job. I stayed there for 10 years until the company went bankrupt.

Samantha called it a "stool softener company."

EDIT: Washington D.C. is also the only place reference I see. And nothing really pops out at me when looking up laxative manufacturers that went bankrupt.

EDIT 2: Though if we were looking for a real company, it would have gone bankrupt in... 1979 + 22 + 10 = 2011?

I found a potentially helpful list of pharmaceutical companies that have filed for bankruptcy but having gone through the ones listed for 2011 I haven't found a likely candidate.

Hmm... Maybe we should try "Washington D.C."? We may be overthinking this?

Yeah, very possibly. Unfortunately Washington D.C. doesn't seem to be right, though.

I did think that Samantha giving you the specific detail that it was a stool softener (from my fun research into laxatives today it seems that stool softeners are just one of many different types) is perhaps a nudge that we do need to find a specific company. But perhaps you're right and I can't see the wood for the trees. Did Samantha say anything else?

Nope, this was her entire message:
Quote:
Ooh, that would be fun. Keith was out today; so I got some planning done. Can't remember what his stool softener company was called, but I'm sure you can figure it out.

I just tried "Washington" as the answer and that didn't work either, unfortunately. So I guess we have one try left? Eek!

EDIT: Took another look at the letter.pdf file. There has to be a reason that it's all weird and arranged like that, right? I discovered that some of the text are a slightly lighter black (2d2d2d). But that could just be a coincidence.

I think we'll only get locked out if somebody tries three successive times in the same browser session so hopefully it'll be okay if we co-ordinate our efforts.

I agree with you on the PDF; there surely has to be more to it. I have a copy of Photoshop Elements knocking about so I'll install it tonight and see if I can see anything but I'm really out of my element when it comes to image manipulation. Was it relatively easy to separate the layers when you tried?

I think there are a few possibilities in terms of our next breakthrough:

1. As you mention, there could well be something else in the PDF that could help us.
2. I feel from this hints we've been given that we have everything we need for Keith's Trishpere password. Maybe there's something in there that will help?
3. Maybe somebody else has received important information via the Trisphere messaging system but hasn't been able to post here yet -- for instance, you received the information needed to work out Keith's birth year, whereas I was given the month and day details. Without working together we wouldn't have got this far, so maybe we're missing some info from another player?
4. I think I'm right in saying that we haven't had anything significant from the new Passable Drug blog yet. Are we missing anything there? Surely a whole new site wouldn't be set up without good reason? There was the mention of unfiction in the source code which made me think there might be something in there.
5. Maybe there really is a stool softener manufacturer that went bankrupt a few years back that we need to find.

I think I got a broken version of the PDF that has all the weird formatting jumbled around at the bottom instead of actually layered on the message. At least, it sounds like it from the way you guys are talking. Here's the image, see what you can do with it:

Ringmaster, that's how it looks on my computer too. But if you open it in Photoshop, you'll see that they are actually separate layers on top of one another. Which I believe answers your question, Billy?

Of course, it's possible that the layers were never meant to be separated, but only viewed as a part of the whole document.

That .PDF seems to have an awfully large file size for just a one page document.

It does, thanks. I've had a look in Photoshop now and as you found, it also looks to me like the layers fit over each other with no discrepancies when you move them around. I was hoping there would be something revealed lower down but it seems that the 'Keith Reyes' sign-off was all that was masked.

As Scotter says, though, 2.6MB does seem like a large file size for what we're seeing. I'm stumped as to the next step, though.

Also, welcome Greginvann! Once you're up to speed with everything maybe contact some of the in-game Trisphere employees and see if you can get any more information. If you have any questions on what's happened so far just shout and we'll fill you in.
