Unnecessary questions are unnecessary =D.

No it's not an unnecessary question you're supporting an unnecessary response to all this madness. If we just let it die it might go away quietly. If you have tumblr justice fundraisers and protests it's not going to help shit.

What could possibly be wrong with helping to raise money for charity? Quite frankly I would rather help raise money with the possibility of blowing our low profile than be too afraid to do something good for someone out of the fear that it would look bad somehow.

No, you don't get it, if WE make it an issue it will BECOME an issue, if we DON'T it WON'T. The more attention we bring to the subject the bigger bulls-eye we paint on ourselves for the media. One might argue that it's already an issue but relatively speaking it's not as bad as it could be right now and we should keep it that way. We don't need to raise anything because we didn't do anything wrong, we're not involved with anything that was done wrong by others, and by forcing ourselves into the families situations we're doing more harm than good.

Well I do some what agree with you that making this stream is probably going cause more media backlash, BUT this wasn't exactly my idea now was it ... the better the charity does the less of a negative impact it will make, think about it. If we don't even make it half way to the goal it will seem just to be a transparent PR stunt done by the community so that we look better after one of us pooped our pants. If we do make it half way to the goal it will seem more like a legitimate statement about the community.

AND whether or not it will help in the slightest, it is still a noble cause none the less.

Also just because WE didn't do any thing wrong doesn't mean that we can't help it's a fucking CHARITY not a BILL this is not done out of obligation it is done out of sympathy or generosity or both.

The stream will be moved to here after a short break just in case if anyone cares http://youtu.be/AZokdn4QK8o

The creepy pasta community is currently doing a 24 hour live stream to raise money for this incident/show that we are not masochistic satanic psychos ... so if you see this in time try to catch to show your support =D.

I don't really support this man, you're bringing unneeded attention to the community what's the point?

This is pretty dumb. You seem to vastly over-estimate the importance of people posting on an internet forum. What exactly is 'un-needed' attention here? Are you worried about NSA agents kidnapping you?

It's a nice gesture, if you want to take your ball and go home that's fine, but I'm pretty sure you speak for none of the 'community'.

You seem to vastly under-estimate SJWs and their bullshit. Thank god this all blew over by now or I really would be worried, not about the NSA (I don't know why the fuck I would be...) but about idiots on reddit and tumblr spreading this stuff so fast you wouldn't believe it. It just takes one idiot to really catch wind of something they deem a "cause" and then all of a sudden it becomes an actual problem as proclaimed by the media.

For example, remember when Steven Colbert was bombarded by literally thousands of people after one asian chick with a metric shit-ton of followers on Twitter decided to start #CancelColbert after she deemed one of his tweets "inappropriate" although it was actually just a joke in support of asians but was taken out of context because this stupid chick didn't watch the actual episode which he was referencing? That made national news man. Imagine what multiple people doing that shit could do to the reputation of the mythos.

But, as I said, by now it's pretty much over so I'm not worried about jack-shit buddy. You're a bit late on the trigger there.

And she was a fucking racist towards white people and a massive attention whore to boot before her slacker hashtag activist BS was useless as hell and Steve is taking over David Letterman's Late Night Show.

While I admit, I have been wanting to see what has happened to the two girls since then, I still feel the same shame and disappointment from last year. I was hoping this wouldn't turn up again. They truly seemed to think that Slender Man is real, which baffles me since I'm near their age group. Sure, reading about Slender Man scared me and made me unable to sleep for a few days/weeks, but I always knew he was fake. I feel bad for all of them. The girls just didn't know the difference between fiction and reality.

I hate how the Operator symbol isn't even Slender Man's symbol, but it's now known as that thanks to this video. Marble Hornets ended almost a year ago, so the THAC guys don't deserve to get any negativity because of this whole ordeal. Same goes for the Slender Man and Creepypasta fandoms. Sad

did you hear what those two girls are saying now? APPARENTLY Slender Man said that if they did not kill her that he would kill their families in 3 seconds. Wonder how THAT will affect the mythos, that and the whole "slender sightings in a British town" BS I have been reading about online lately.

if members of the community donate money it's assuming responsibility. If you're walking down the road and you see a guy shoot some random person on the street, do you offer to cover the medical expenses of their wound? Do you hand yourself in to the cops as an accessory, on battery charges or intent to kill?

We had nothing to do with it. We had no involvement in what happened between the girls. We have no reason to donate money because we are not guilty. We are not responsible.
The two girls who brutally attacked their friend were not members of the Slenderverse community, they were morally malnourished children who had no distinction of reality and fantasy. They had no consideration for the consequences regardless of whether their friend lived or not.

If one of the slenderverse series creators had an accident or one of the prominent members of the community had a medical emergency, then I would gladly pay money in solidarity to help someone in my community who needs my help. To be best of my knowledge the County of Waukesha organised a fundraiser for the victim, as it should be. Their community is much closer to the victim and clearly let these two sociopathic children slide right by and do this.

So no, don't donate money based on their stupidity. No vlog advocated this kind of behaviour, no forum suggested doing this and no wiki tell anyone to do anything. Paying money would be exactly what FOX, CNN, Larry King and all the others want. They want us to feel guilty. Which we are not.

I've felt less chills watching Charles Manson interviews.

Not that I want to keep this at the top of the list of threads, but does anyone have a link to the original interrogation tapes? I'm curious as to what wasn't contained in the CNN's selected clips.

What nonsense. I've donated money for example to ACS; is that tantamount to taking "responsibility" for people getting cancer? If I donate some money to help the city hospital build a new burn wing am I copping to arson? Of course not - it's silly to even entertain the idea.

I don't mind donating; it has nothing to do with guilt. You're actually going to post here encouraging people to NOT donate money to help an innocent violent crime victim?

Not at all thanks to this video. It has been regarded by many as a catch-all Slenderman symbol long before now. That's what made the reporter call it such a thing in the first place, same with the interrogator calling him Slender and so on. Anyway, creators of Slenderman content fortunately haven't had their reception affected by this as far as I can tell. The two attackers are crazy and violent individuals and most people acknowledge that's their fault, not the fault of content creators simply trying to entertain horror fans.
