Oh no no no, hey guys, it gets even better. Did you hear about that couple who killed two police officers and shot up a Walmart in Las Vegas yesterday? Turns out they're your typical garden-variety white-supremacy/anti-government conspiracy loons; however :
Quote:
While authorities have yet to identify them, a woman who says she lived near them told CNN affiliate KTNV that the married couple liked to dress up as the villainous Batman characters Joker and Harley Quinn.
The neighbor, Krista Koch, told the station the man also sometimes dressed as Slenderman, a fictional horror character that recently surfaced in the stabbing of a 12-year-old girl in Wisconsin.
Just throwing it out there...

WHY?
...
Right. Well, in this case, there is such a thing as bad publicity, and the Mythos is getting way, way too much of it.
One can only hope this is the last time.

Face it, guys - it's just a fact. Some of our fellow SM fans are psychopathic nutjobs.
I bet there's even at least a couple reading this very forum...right now ...

He also dressed as Peter Pan. I don't see that mentioned a lot.

It sounds like they were psychos who happened to be cosplayers. Of course the Slenderman connection will be beaten like a dead horse though, considering the stabbings.
Oh, BTW, the thing that made me dust this old account off and post...The neighbor who made the Slenderman comment is my cousin.

I've seen it a couple of times; but I don't see the Slenderman comment anywhere besides CNN's article. Even other articles which quote the same neighbor don't mention Slenderman.

CNN's trolling wicked hard. For relevance.

At least the other articles find that little bit to be useless and no ties to the shootings, which it's a smart thing they did (unlike CNN and other sites or shows).

Although I suppose that single reference is enough.
On another op-ed about the Vegas shootings, there was a link to a soundclip of Alex Jones ranting about how it was staged by the government (which is what he says anytime anybody in the US shoots anybody else, really), and in amongst the loonity he makes mention of a "report" that the male shooter "liked to dress up as the internet character SKINNY MAN".

in regards to the "Las Vegas cop killers" it seems like more and more news businesses are getting aboard the "slenderman is involved" bandwagon, http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/06/10/slender-man-linked-murders-of-las-vegas-police_n_5477422.html
