Listening to it again, it actually does sound like "You have to kill them", but it also still sounds like "If it's still alive", so I'm less sure now. I'm only hearing one syllable between "If" and "still"...

Actually, that could make sense. "If it's still alive, you have to kill them, and then yourself." Maybe Alex thinks that TO will die once everyone it spread to is dead, and he's saying that if TO is still alive that means that there's still someone else who needs to be killed.

Or something. I don't know.

So if The Operator is a "disease" & Tim learned how to "block it out," then a more accurate interpretation would be that it jumped to Alex, possibly because Alex let it get to him, & he spread it. Well, actually, he didn't so much "spread it" as kill people. It largely left Jay alone, unless he was in Rosswood or Alex was around. It also didn't jump straight from Tim to Brian, so yeah, something's not adding up, there.


The camera likely has something to do with it. Also, like Tim (at least before meeting Brian), Alex (pre-MH shoot) is an outsider, someone on the margins. But Alex is also the director of MH. I don't know what that has to do with it, but it striks me that there may be something to that that has to do with why TO "jumped" to (and, it seems in the early entries and then in the mid-40s again, nested with) Alex.

I listened to it a few times. I heard: "This isn't over [last word very weak and almost slurred]. You see how it [or "this"] spreads... If you see someone alive... you have to kill them... then yourself..."

 		Shouldn't the creators just answer our simple question if it's over or not.

This isn't something we should be debating-It should be clarified. For now we are just assuming it's the end-based on no evidence.

If you really wanted it to end like that-ugh. Barely any answers except TO is a disease that thrives on death to live..no thanks. I have more faith in these guys.

 		Why would Alex tell Tim to kill the Operator? That makes no sense. If Alex believed that TO could be killed, why wouldn't he have attempted to do it himself long ago, rather than murder all his friends and girlfriend? The fact that Alex went to all these lengths to kill everyone who had even the slightest connection to TO is basically a testament to the fact that he didn't believe TO could ever be truly killed/destroyed, IMHO.

If TO truly is like a disease, then the only way to really weaken it is to deprive it of victims. It's like a sickness with no cure, all you can do is try to prevent an epidemic, you can't destroy the sickness itself.

Although, that really begs the question of why the flying fuck did Alex give the tapes to Jay? Seems like a really fucking stupid move.

I always assumed the bullet casing came from someone trying to shoot the operator. We see hoody attempt to shoot it and fail. It most likely can't die, it will just teleport away as soon as something threatening comes near.

Also, he didn't tell Tim to kill the operator. You guys are hearing things.

 		Maybe Alex gave the tapes to Jay in the hopes that TO would attach itself to Jay instead of Alex. Maybe he was unable, though TO's influence, to talk about it, and hoped Jay would watch the tapes immediately and try to help him.

Right after the tapes changed hands, though, TO caused Alex to attack Jay (and afterward I assumed Jay was "Taken" by TO, but it didn't quite ... stick.)

I'm betting the last entry will occur on the 5th anniversary.

So we saw Jessica disappear, lying on that road. We argued whether we thought she was dead, if anyone could see her breathing. We argued that why else would she disappear, other than The Operator taking her. Not to mention why would ToheArk say she's still out there?

Dude. IT WAS A F***ING JUMP CUT. A real one, in the series. NOT THE OPERATOR. They did one measly jump cut and we, AND ALEX, assumed it was The Operator.


This is a REALLY good theory. Plus it would give an even better explanation as to why Tim wanted to keep the video from Jay; we knew he didn't want something that made it look like he had a part in "killing" her, but we now know that was probably because he (and possibly Brian?) faked it to get her out of Alex/Op's range.

Which may further explain what Jay was talking about when he said "I know why you hid that tape" in Entry 82 - he figured something out, though how that connects to him wandering around the Operator Shack is still up for debate.


This could also explain why Tim is a liar. He lied about her still being in danger to motivate Jay

12:10 - There is something on the windowsill. WHAT IS IT? I can't make it out, but there's definitely an object there, and it's not part of the window. Hard to believe something would just be left there if it wasn't important.

good eye, didn't notice that. Not sure if it's relevant though. Could be something belonging to Jay? That's the window he was camped at while he watched Benedict Hall right?
