It's already been said, but I would like more insight into Hoody/Brian's motivation, especially at the end when he set Jay up to die.

Alex and Tim both had solid explanations for their actions and Jay had a purpose, but Hoody was all over the place.

I know the simple answer is that he was crazy, but I would have liked for it to be a bit more than that.

Did he set Jay up to die, though? I wrote this on TV Tropes a while ago, but I'm pretty sure he was keeping Alex in the room where Jay found the photos. But, running low on pills, Hoody dun goofed. It was a building in use, and Jacob the maintenance guy found Alex tied up. Being a good person, Jacob untied Alex and was "rewarded" by Alex in turn. Alex then wrote the note directing Jay to Benedict Hall. Seeing this, Hoody uploaded Quadrant, which said "do not do this" and "hold off" while flashing images of the note and Jay watching Benedict Hall. Jay didn't get the message though, and the rest is history.

Well Hoody's inability to communicate directly makes it hard to say. In the end your explanation is as good as any, and that is where the problem lies.

Endings are difficult because no one is ever happy. Make a concerte ending and it interferes with people's headcanon. Make it ambigious and people demand a canon answer. So I respect the crew of MH, but I wanted more out of the Hoody/Totheark angle. The ending in that respect is very underwhelming to me.

I would have liked to know what the heck Hoody was trying to do. And I don't understand keeping Alex captive, just kill the guy like you tried to before.

What was the voice that answered Jace in Entry #23?

It's always been theorized that it was the operator parroting Jay's voice. He never did it again in the series to my recollection.

The thing with Marble Hornets is it forces you to make your own decisions a lot of open items. The only things we were truly told was Hoody was Brian, Tim was a patient at the hospital and the Operator was a "disease". In reality we are never told in the story the operator is called the operator as well-so that's just us using the term the creators said OOG.

I think my number 1 question of all time is this: Was Alex affected by the Operator his entire life? That birthday video doesn't make sense if Alex wasn't introduced to the Operator to Entry 12 via Tim's involved in Marble Hornets.

While I like ambiguity and I don't mind drawing conclusions of my own on certain things, I think the reason a lot of people are angry over this series is because we know just as much about it as the creators it seems.

I'd like to sit down with THAC and ask them all these question, but I don't think they have answers for them. Rather than planned discussion, I think they blatantly didn't care or have a plan for the series they were producing. Several instances the series contradicts itself. This overall feeling is that THAC threw together a bunch of plot points and let the chips fall where they may.

It would be one thing if THAC had all the answers and just didn't tell us them in any of the entries, but instead it feels more like they showed us all they had. I see a lot of people saying 'the answers we seek are right under our nose!' but honestly I think there was just a bit of poor story telling on THAC's part. Nonetheless, you must concede that we are still talking about it though and theorizing, so they did something right for sure. I just think they could've done more.

It's hard for me to get truly angry about it because they provided us with free enterainment for five years. That being said, I hope the next series is more cohesive.

One of the biggest problems with MH is that it was all over the place as far as character development and motivations. Jay had the most steady charaterization of the series simply because he was just a walking tri-pod through most of it. Everyone else was all over the place.

I do think they realized they couldn't get all the answers in, had fatigue from doing the series for five years, and wanted to move on. So they ended the series. I can't really be angry at them for that, but I did want more than what I got.

As long as the commentary in the new box set explains things and isn't just them screwing around I will be happy.

Who uploaded Null if Hoody was out, soon to be dead?

What do the twin lights in the Totheark videos mean?

"Operator belongs to others."

What does this statement mean?

What is inside the tower, and who drew all these operator symbols?

Why was Jay's car door unlocked when Hoody returned his camera to it in his first appearance?

I even remember a tweet from Jay were he acknowledged been concerned about that. I think it fueled some of the speculation as to whether Jay was Hoody.

I foresaw that question would be asked, so I crossed them out. But it is still hard to see, so they were:

1. "Why did Brian say that Jessica was 'out there' if he knew that wasn't true?"

&

2. "Why did Tim & Brian abduct Jessica?"

Of course, that's not to say that the finale didn't raise MORE unanswered questions, like "Why didn't Brian just say, 'Yo, Jay, Jess is at this address'?"

Yeah you would have thought that he could have put Jessica's location in a code of some sort.

I am interested though. Why do you think Tim and Brian did abduct Jessica?

It seems pretty obvious now that they were trying to save her from Alex.

I have a bit of half-serious question: How the hell did no authorities get involved in the thing? People vanish, buildings are burnt down on purpose,... not even a single cop asking a few questions?
