Marble Hornets has been a show about names in an interesting situation. There were no interesting people in Marble Hornets because there were no characters in Marble Hornets, just names with vaguely ascribed traits. No character arcs. No catharsis. No emotional stakes. Just a mysterious sequence of events.

Could not disagree with you more. I think each character's actions spoke volumes about them, and that they were very three-dimensional and well-developed. It wasn't given to us straight up most of the time, but it was there.

I feel like people are annoyed for two reasons.
1. The last entry was incredible, and it's pretty much impossible to top.
2. It only raised more questions and provided no answers, which we've loved in the past but in the apparent last entry it feels irritating.

Also, I personally think that Tim went into Masky mode and attacked Jessica.

Well you would know. Speaking of which, why you still choking Tim, dude?

I feel like I should point out that Masky was the one who rescued Jessica, while it would appear to be Tim who is checking up on her.

Which begs the question, where does Masky end and Tim begin. Obviously Tim had to be coherent enough to know that Jessica made it out or whatever, unless she just happened into his lap randomly before season 3...

ugh, I feel like I need to do an entire rewatch of season 3 now to really get my bearings

Yeeeeaaaahhhh..... If this was indeed the final entry then this ending is complete shit. Ending it on last entry would have been better.

I think the order of events was Masky rescued Jessica, Tim met Jessica through them going to the same doctor, Tim realized his previous connection to Jessica after finding Jay's youtube channel. And then at some point Brian dropped that tape in his house.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Am I the only one that thinks that the reason why they brought Jessica back is because of the sequel series they are doing? Perhaps they are saving the answers for the next series...

Leave it to the final entry to be the most polarizing. Personally, this ending was akin to the ending of Mass Effect.

I don't think Hoody was a separate personality of Brian. He was just in disguise while he led Jay around by the nose. He just had too much neurological damage from A. His Alex-induced concussion and B. being screwed over by TO to have much of his original self left.

If Tim didn't know his connection to Jessica until after he met Jay or saw his youtube channel, how did he know to lie about Jay before meeting him/finding his channel?

Why? Because it was action-packed? Without this entry we wouldn't have known that Tim was keeping Jessica a secret from Jay, which was actually one of the recurring themes of this season (Brain constantly Tim a liar and such, which we know now it meant to Jessica actually being alive), so we would have been left with the same amount of unanswered questions + 1 left.

Pretty much what I'm thinking for both Hoody/Brian and Masky/Tim.

For anything with hiding Jessica to work, Tim had to be aware of himself as Masky it feels like. And the same goes for Brian.

The question is, what happened with the Brian/Tim TTA alliance for Brian to become so antagonistic?

Because he found out Tim was the source and not Alex? That he was lying all the time?

I'm with ya. Because.. Why did Tim still have that mask? How long ago did Masky show up? Why did Tim know he had a mask if he is unaware of himself as Masky?

I think this is what happened as well, or something similar to it. "If there's someone left, you have to kill them...and then yourself."
Also, this is my 333rd post. Nice.

Well, this ending was a bit unsatisfying. I mean, I'm pretty sure that's the end, right?

I was expecting a bit more of a reflection, honestly. Even a monologue from Tim. I thought he was gonna start talking to the camera when he was driving at the end there. And then when he turned the camera around to the road I thought we were gonna see something shocking for a second.

And I guess Jessica's status is left up in the air. I did hear the sirens when I first watched, but they were pretty subtle and didn't last long. I wonder if they intentionally put that sound in to make us feel like Tim did something to her.

The "everything is fine" ending is okay I guess, but there's not enough meat around it, if you know what I mean. This ending just felt kind of hollow. After all those years of mystery, action, codes, masked people, and the Operator, it's weird that the ending was like this.

I don't know, I always felt like there was more to the story than just "the Operator is a disease and it must not spread."
