The detective's question of "what was the murderer's favorite ice cream" is an incorrect question, as opposed to the whereabouts of the murderer.

Well, I'm going to get over my disappointment and just try to get some discussion going.

Anyone else feeling like Tim really was the big bad this whole time? I mean, say what you want about Alex going too far, but the last entry made it pretty clear that his goal wasn't "kill people to feed operator or to get operator off my back" so much as "everyone needs to die for it to go away"

And now it turns out that Tim was hiding one person away this whole time. And according to Alex, one person was all it needed.

Alex is dead, nobody is trying to kill Jessica, Operator keeps on living, Tim's getting the **** out of dodge. Maybe Tim made the deal with the devil and not Alex.

I mean, what else purpose is there for this entry?

So why am I satisfied if this ending, if it is an ending, is objectively bad just because it doesn't feed you anything?
No, because it's terrible
And yet I'm satisfied.

Unless there's only one place in town that serves his flavor.

Why can't the people who wish more questions were answered and the people who liked the series just call a truce. I know we seem different, but if you compare us to most other people, we're actually fairly similar.

Eh, Alex's rational was brought about by his refusal to admit that the Operator was guiding his hand. Everyone dying wouldn't stop the thing, like Tim said, there could be hundreds or thousands more. I think the point was that there is no way to beat the thing, but that it doesn't have to control your life, that it can be suppressed and its influence all but ignored with the proper treatment and discipline. Tim was right in keeping Jay away from Jessica, she didn't remember the ugly details and she was better off that way. It's just a shame Tim couldn't save Jay too.

It'd be interesting to know what Jay's life was like between the summer of 06 and his going through Alex's tapes. We never got any insight into that. Was he living a normal life, or was he feeling the effects the same way Tim and Jessica were, and just didn't know what it was or that he needed to get help? He never talked about friends, family, or any kind of support system, aside from that one person who told him his apartment was on fire.

I would be skeptical of calling this the end, until one of the guys says otherwise at least. If this is the ending however, then it is a worthy one I say. The whole 'Everything is fine' quote is a perfect way to end the series. I always thought it would end ambiguous. Wasn't that the original plan with S1 anyway, before it became a hit? That is one of the joys about the Slenderman mythos, it ambiguous intentions and origin. It would have been a shame if they suddenly had an episode explaining every miniscule detail of the series mythology. Some things are better left unsaid and hinted at (Although I would admit, the whole totheark thing could have perhaps been better explain/represented at least...)

What a fantastic five years of storytelling, no matter whether it is the end or not. Congratulations to the guys for creating a wonderful series! Smile

Like I said before, not liking this entry as the final one doesn't mean it is because of the unanswered questions, it's just a terrible ending

Tim and Brian

So.. If Tim and Brian were really best friends, why did the sickness, if Tim really was patient zero, not spread to Brian before the filming of Marble Hornets?

Something about cameras?

Also, why did Brian never snap out of Hoody mode like Tim did? Hoody took pills. Maybe they didn't work as well for him as they do for Tim?

I get that Tim was trying to protect Jessica from a stubborn Jay, but could he not have stopped Jay's being killed if he had just told Jay that Jessica was alive but wished to remain anonymous?

You know how Jay was, he would have managed to screw up somehow and get Jessica involved again. Granted, perhaps something else should have been done so Jay didn't die, but Tim was only trying to protect Jessica.
