Im still laughing.

Thanks!

So that was really the end, huh? Not a fan of ambiguity in endings, myself, but I liked the final entry in spite of that. Great show, looking forward to gaining access to the skull mask, the Ark, and the Stop'n'Swop feature in Marble Hornets Tooie.

JUST YOU WAIT TILL MARBLE HORNETS THREEIE. (marble hornets nuts and bolts)

How about we get downloadable content for three endings based on the colors of Red, Blue and Green instead?

The Banjo Kazooie references are now my favorite quotes on the forums.

Marble Hornets: Nuts and Bolts? Let me guess, it was a sequel that was supposed to give us more answers, but instead we got a racing game featuring the cast of Marble Hornets with build your own kart system.

Am I crazy...or does that sound hype as fuck dude?

Wasn't it said somewhere that Alex's name did not start with "R"?

''Favorite moment in MH?''

Oh, don't make me choose. Alex pulling a gun on Jay, Alex successfully shooting Jay, the iconic head snap, Entry 86, Brian's end, Alex's sarcasm, Jay's duel with Alex over Jessica's phone number, Jessica's dead, oh wait no she's not, "Everything's fine," Brian+Tim vs. Alex, finding the Operator at the playground, even some of the Tothearks, though I'll be damned if I can tell you which ones are which, the list just goes on & on.

I'm glad that it's concluded, but I hate that it'll never feel new again. I want to watch it again right away, & yet I don't.

"i will also ask ''Favorite moment/entry discussion/thread in this forum?''"

Moment: There was exactly 1 time that I joined in 1 of the streams/discussions. That was truly a treat.

Discussion: Entry 86, for being the only thread that I managed to read the whole way through.

EDIT: Wanted to add something that I'm not sure is often said; Brian's a pretty good actor. Developing a character without speaking is hard, & even if we want to say that Hoody was developed mostly through Totheark, there's a very noticeable difference between Brian's "acting" for Marble Hornets & Brian's "not acting."

Ahhh...what an adventure. I wish I had discovered all this when it first started instead of in 2011, but still, I've had fun. The discussions, the arguments, the flame wars that most likely would have turned violent had we be doing this in person... Razz

Favorite entry? I think I'm torn between Entry 26, Entry 40 (the one that made me literally jump back in my chair, and I was in a library so everyone looked at me funny), and whatever entry it was where Tim punched Jay in the face. XD

Favorite moments on this forum? I really enjoyed the Tie Wars. I didn't participate, but that's because I was eating popcorn and being entertained by the whole debacle.

On another note, do we know if we'll be able to discuss their next project on this forum, or will we have to find somewhere else?

Not going to get into my favorite moments from the series just yet. I need to rewatch all of it first. But as for my favorite UF moments... sheesh, where to start?

-The Hub as a whole, particularly some of the bizarre convos I had with Professor (of which I have some screencaps)

-The Rage Thread in its better days

-The creation of the Happy Thread in retaliation

-The short-lived and hilariously derailed Crazy Thread

-The Red Robin lunacy

-Some of the theories in this thread (which is rather obsolete now)

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Also it said it would "soon" be drawing to a close in the first post of that thread. From January 2013. I find that funny.

-The title and first page of this thread, which came amidst an onslaught of "Is the series about to end guyzz" threads (fun fact: No, it most definitely was not.)

-This thread: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=37014

-The whole "The front door was shut, there was no time warping" argument, not because of the argument itself (that was frankly kinda depressing) but because of some of the responses to it

-The defeat of the Surveillance TTA code

-All of Serum's posts when he wasn't legitimately pissed off about something

-So much more. I'll continue this later

First off, I just want to thank everybody. I've always been more of a lurker, and I was never terribly social on here, but reading everyone's discussions of the series has been one of the best parts. So, thank you to everyone.

I was initially disappointed by the ending, but IG it makes sense that Tim wouldn't tell us how Jessica survives (realistically, it was stupid of him to tell us she was alive at all). I'm still going by my theory that 87 was an older video that Masky posted to assure us that both he and Jessica were still around (Tim is a liar, but is Masky?). And that's the thing: the ending is open ended. We can interpret it however we want.

Entry 72 was one of my favorites. I actually discovered Marble Hornets shortly before it was uploaded, so it was my first fresh scare.

Quadrant was my favorite Totheark video. Both for the music that I sometimes listen to for fun and for the fact that I guessed it might be a "move around on the keyboard" cipher before it was actually solved.

EDIT: this subforum won't be locked yet, will it? I can see value in keeping it open at least until The Operator movie comes out. Even if the movie doesn't directly answer questions about the series, it might give us new ways to interpret the series.

I came in too late to participate in them, but I think my favorite UF moments were the "Twitter watch" threads (#21 and 61, respectively). The excitement and anticipation are palpable.

I'm kind of going to miss the Anticipation Thread. A bunch of people all talking about how they're spamming F5 on Youtube at the same time gave me such a sense of community; the first time I had Unfiction, Twitter, and Youtube all open in different tabs, and was constantly refreshing all of them made me feel like I had truly become an Unfictioner.

They should do a giant Q&A deal like Tribe Twelve did awhile back.

It'd be pretty interesting.

Well I only started pretty recently, but I really enjoyed the discussions that I did participate in. Marble Hornets introduced me to something really great.

I would probably have to marathon it again to pick a favorite entry, but I think Entry 65 and 83 are definitely up there. I'm a fan of mind screw C:

Even though I discovered Marble Hornets a little late (not until August of 2011), it was a lot of fun discussing entry theories with you guys and stuff. That is, when people weren't at each other's throats.

My favorite uF moment/thread? Well, the Rage Thread in general was pretty memorable before people forgot it was supposed to be satirical. And the general flamewars involving people like Pravado, the Pupmaster of Twisty Puppets and Serum (I miss that guy. Is he still around? What happened to him?) were always fun to laugh at on the sidelines. I also miss that Jamocha person who had the Mickey Mouse avatar. He/she was pretty cool.

The Tim Thread had a few good moments as well. I miss not-angry Serum.

In terms of entries: I won't be able to decide for sure until I marathon through again on Blu-Ray and pay attention to every stand-alone entry, but right now my favorite is 52. So much information with a decent length and one of my favorite Operator appearances made this one a keeper.

My favorite moment of the entire series was probably the Operator appearance in Entry 64, but again, I'd need to wait until my August marathon for this to be set-in-stone. This will likely remain my favorite Operator appearance, though.

Anyway, good series, good memories. I'm still not 100% convinced that 87 is the end due to my being a stubborn turkey, but so far I'm satisfied.

See you all for Trosephim's new series.

Wow. I haven't posted in a very long time, but I thought I'd pop out for the end. It's been a great run, and, unlike some others, I'm very happy with the ending.

My favorite appearances of TO are still his first season (entry 6 is the best ever) and I'm still sad that in seasons 2-3 he suddenly got very immobile. I liked it better when he was walking around (like Entry 6 and 14) or running (entry 4)! I also liked it better when the distortion was very minimal near the beginning of the series and you could get a good, clear look at TO (as in Return).

The scariest appearances ever for me are probably entries 10, 13, 26, and 40. Best appearance in Season 3 for me is entry 60.

As far as my brief times on the forum, I really miss Tharol's frequent incoherent postings (what ever happened to him anyway?).

So long everyone. Have a good summer with the your restful nights in 5 years!

I've been lurking on here for a long time, and I wanted to thank everyone for the ride.

It's always sad to see a series end - especially when you've been following it so closely for so long - but I must say I'm pleased with the way everything turned out. Although I would have liked a little more closure on some things, I would have been more upset if they had handed us all the answers at the end.

Marble Hornets has never been a scientific exploration of TO and his effects, weaknesses, etc; it has always focused on the people trying to deal with the reality they've been tossed into and how they try and cope with the constant stress and terror that surrounds them. Jay hid behind his camera - putting a barrier between himself and what was really going on, Alex sees what's happening and decides to do something to end it, no matter the cost, and Tim just wants to ignore it and hope it leaves him alone.

By the end, each of these characters has to face these choices and deal with their consequences. Jay becomes an active player, Alex reveals his true intentions in 86, and Tim has to accept that this thing is a part of him, and he has a responsibility to act.

I think that's amazing.

As far as my favorite entry, it has always been - and I guess now it always will be - Entry 26.

I've always loved Amy's reaction to seeing the Operator. Her raw terror and confusion has always reminded me of what it was like to start Marble Hornets at the beginning. When you first see TO you have no idea what it is or what it wants, you just know you need to get the hell away.

Anyway, sorry for the rambling. I guess that's what happens when you don't post for years.

Regards.

So now that it's all said and done, my theory is basically that nobody is supposed to remember the Operator. Tim didn't "infect" anyone in the traditional sense. Looking back, especially at season one, any encounters Jay was privy to he had no memory of. Same with Tim and everyone else. So what started this mess? Well, Alex caught the anomaly on film when Tim auditioned, and then later that night, and in doing so became aware of its existence. That's the variable. Everyone who remembers their encounters with the Operator already knew the thing existed. That's why, even though Jessica clearly saw it behind Tim in entry 87, she likely won't remember it, and will be able to continue getting treatment for her symptoms unaware of the horrible truth regarding their cause. The physical and mental affects the Operator has on people who don't know about it are treatable and basically akin to mental illness, the real danger is the burden of knowledge.

Also, on the subject of Alex thinking people were "gone" in season one, I think the Operator can't take people who are still alive. Tunnel guy died, so his corpse vanished for good, stayed in the Operator's realm. Same with Jay. Tim was still alive, so he didn't stay. Jessica was still alive, so she was spat back out. Brian, Jay, and Tim during the summer of 06, same thing. Alex thought they were dead, the Operator tried to take them, but they survived, so it had to spit 'em back out.
