[Poll] Marble Hornets Book Club I saw this idea for the "Book Club" style simultaneous viewing of the series, where we could divide the whole series (and TTA) into chunks that we could all watch together, and discuss that chunk after a week, that way, everyone can have time to watch that chunk, and we can discuss it together. This would be good for newcomers to be able to discuss earlier entries with veterans, and for veterans to refresh their memories and hear new theories and ideas that haven't been considered before. And I think it'll be fun
However, I'm uncertain about whether each chunk/week of the "Book Club" merits its own thread. That's where you guys come in!

Re: [Poll] Marble Hornets Book Club I think one for the entire series. Except that the thread should be locked during the week, and unlocked on the weekend, so people don't start bringing it off topic before everyone has had a chance to watch it.

I dunno, it seems like it would negate the whole purpose of it if it were locked. The whole point is to cater to the people who can't do Synchtube due to their schedule, y'know?

Yeah, but synch tube requires everyone to sit down and watch the series all at once. With the book club, they would have all week to see the set episodes on their time, and all weekend to join the conversation on their time.
It is how a real book club works. Everyone parts ways, reads the book, then gather back and discusses it.
I feel like this could be a good opportunity to gather the latest theories in one place, and if you leave it open all the time, it will quickly fill with off topic stuff. Just my opinion, but that seems to be what happens.

Maybe lock it during the week if it becomes a problem, but I somehow doubt it will. -shrugs-

I thought this was going to be a group of people who review material they think might have inspired Marble Hornets and the Slender Man mythos in general. Material like...
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski
Grimm's Fairy Tales
Naked Lunch by William Burroughs
And stuff like the assorted works of Edgar Allen Poe...

A Slender Man/horror book club would be an awesome idea. However, doing House of Leaves might prove problematic since there are like ten different versions of it.

This is also what I thought when I read the title. I'd be up for that too.

Neat idea, though I feel discussion like a book club's would probably work better in IRC.

Yes but the point is to make it convenient for people that don't regulars schedules and can't partake in something live, like synch tube and irc

I'd love to see this happen; I keep missing Synctubes and wasn't in at the start for Marble Hornets, so would love to be able to talk about the entries. I thought one page for the entire series would be good as it would allow people to catch up.

(It would also be cool to broaden the scope to potential inspirations after we'd "done" the series;-)

I think if we do this, we should do this right, which means re-solving or just re-posting the TTA solutions.

This is a great idea. Maybe instead of starting a new thread, just falcon bump the original thread. May bring some of the old unsolved tta puzzles back to light.
