[Geocaching/Letterboxing] Letterboxing

Konashark read about this in the July 26th issue of Time Magazine (the issue with Las Vegas on the cover).

http://www.letterboxing.org/

Sort of a hide-and-seek for grownups. Clues are left at the website and you seek out the hidden boxes. Inside will be a stamp for your book as a momento. Check out the map, there might be someone with boxes hidden in your home area (there are at least 20 to be found in the Las Vegas and surrounding areas).

Edit by Addlepated - changed subject line for clarity.

This looks incredible. Seeing my poduck town on there BLEW MY MIND. I look forward to seeing how many people have been there!

A lot of geocache locations are starting to go the letterboxing route: with the stamp and logbook, rather than just a simple logbook to write in. It is cool to see this stuff catching on enough for Time to pick it up.

Edited to add: you might also want to take a peek at benchmarking, which is another form of geocaching that is starting to take hold.
