[OT] Songs That Remind You of MH

I'll start.

"Is There Anybody Out There?" by Pink Floyd, (The Wall, 1979)
Could relate with Alex's paranoia.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kpy7seH5Hc8

"Dirty Fingernails" by Modest Mouse, (The Fruit That Ate Itself, 1997)
IMO has the same kind of atmosphere as Marble Hornets
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Fi6ZOhCGQ4

"Fire On High" by Electric Light Orchestra, (Face The Music, 1975)
Another atmospheric thing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ewaz0Fzewns

"Silent Sorrow On Empty Boats" by Genesis, (The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, 1974)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARTBss53pQk

"Follow Through" by Modest Mouse, (Early Demo)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltMiWg-jlNs

I'm sure there's a lot more in my music collection that will soon be added.[/url]

Photographic by Depeche Mode (specifically the Some Bizarre version) always reminded me of TTA for some reason.

Haha this is really stereotypical but I connected Iron maiden's self titled track with MH not so much of the tone but the lyrics remind me of SM and how you can't really escape haha

The District Sleeps Alone Tonight by The Postal Service. I can't really put my finger on why, but either the droning tone reminds me of the distortion, or the somewhat bleak-sounding lyrics relate the two for me.

Also, this topic says a lot about unforum's musical preferences.

I Can't Decide by the Scissor Sisters.

I seriously can't listen to that song without thinking of this.

Anything by the marlboro hornets. Though that doesn't exactly answer this thread.

So a non-related to MH song would be... hmm...

Actually no songs remind me of MH for some reason.

Failing the Rorschach Test by Matthew Good Band:

Moons and Horror Shows by the Zutons, which is kind of happy sounding but just reminds me of a really lighthearted view of MH.

And, Something is Squeezing my Skull by Morrissey:

Maybe slightly weird associations, but. Razz

.. and pretty much any Joy Division song just somehow reminds me of the tone of the series.

"Riders on the Storm" by The Doors. I already found that song really creepy, and I think Marble Hornets fits the bill for it perfectly.

I honestly do think of Gimme 20 Dollars by Ron Browz, the opening with its pounding beat really could have a sinister edge to it were it a better song.

Aside from that and a few already touched on in the thread (Riders on the Storm, very nice choice) it's mostly just obvious answers, like Bed Intruder, which is fun, or Nova Scotia Robots, which never fails to put me in a state of tension.

i freakin love that song. it doesn't remind me of marble hornets though. however some of death cab for cutie's songs (same singer/songwriter) remind me a little bit of marble hornets with the atmosphere. like "lack of color" and "i will follow you in To The (d)Ark"

and riders on the storm by the doors for sure, too.

split needles- the shins
caring is creepy- the shins
love during wartime- the main drag
even seconds- the main drag
some of the trippy-er songs by silversun pickups
john wayne gacy, jr- sufjan stevens
