The fact that Troy said that Brian wanted to end this himself supports my theory that the ark is simply the "ending" that Brian had in mind. He did set Jay and Tim up to die, but subconsciously wanted to help them, hence the TTA videos.

How did he set Tim up to die?

I meant he set Jay up to die and tried to make Tim go Masky. I should've worded it better.

Actually, if you really look at all the stuff Hoody does, there's no reason for him to believe that Jay is more likely to get killed than Tim. Jay, rather than Tim, finding that room in the basement with the note is a coincidence, and both of them actually end up in the same place at the same time. Tim just lucks out and happens to be closer by to the door than Jay was.

I was under the impression that Jay being killed by Alex was NOT meant to happen. In Quadrant, Hoody told Jay "hold off" and "do not do this". I'm pretty sure Alex escaped on his own and left that note there as a trap. Remember, Hoody has helped Jay and Tim out in the past. If he wanted them dead, he's had his chance.

I mean, if that were true, Trosephim's answer in the AMA to what he was doing wouldn't have been "He was trying to end things" because that implies he did set things up, so I don't think a twist that this was some Alex farse is really feasible in that context. But also, the Quadrant code didn't say that. If I recall, it said "I cannot help".

Well Hoody freed Jay from Tim's house. I'd say that by itself is enough of an indicator that Hoody did indeed want Alex to off Jay.

Ya I mean, it's also important to note that while Tim had just as much a chance of dying in 81 as jay did in 80, if Jay had just been sneakier (Read: Vaguely competent) in 80, he also had a knife that Brian seemingly left there for him. He had just as much a chance of killing Alex as Tim did in 86. Which means Brian's plan basically amounted to "I want this to be over but up until now, all of these people who want to kill each other have not ever actually been in the same place. Let's put them there!" Which is a pretty half-assed plan, but then it also might have just amounted to "Okay, I'd go in there to kill Alex myself, but he has a gun and I kinda don't want to die, so let's hedge my bets a little with these two suckers." The fact that it seems kinda half-assed is also tempered by the fact that it basically worked.

It's also pretty in character for Brian. At this point Jay and Tim both wanted to find Alex and "end this" so Brian does what he usually does and facilitates this for them. In a way, it's Jay's approach to this from here that fails. I think it's also important to remember that Jay, and the audience, saw the pictures of Alex tied up with the note leading Jay to Benedict Hall, but Tim didn't, he tracked it down separately as the film department, so when he screams "YOU SET THIS UP" at Brian, he's only got half the picture. He expected Alex to be held capture because of the note, and he feels lied to.

After posting 81, Tim reinforces the idea that they weren't warned Alex escaped, even if he was being held capture, but that's probably to reinforce the idea that Tim is angry with Brian, and his anger is probably clouding him slightly at this point. Remember, Brian also stole his pills. And of course this leads to him just sort of leaving Brian there with the Operator after he half-by-accident kills him, not knowing who it really is.

Regardless, it's pretty hard to interpret Brian's actions and not see a fairly disturbed person. The logical thing to do would be to reveal himself to Tim or Jay and for the two, of even three, of them to go after Alex together, but it's pretty evident that he loses the capacity for that kind of communication by that time.

Every time Brian was about to kill Alex, the Operator showed up and ran him off. Maybe he set up Jay and Tim to fight Alex because he thought only they could succeed. But yeah, I would have loved it if Brian had been able to actually join up and interact with Jay and Tim.

I'm pretty sure I've been reading into this too much but let's entertain the idea for a moment that TTA wasn't Hoody/Brian. Wouldn't that make a lot more sense? TTA was the mastermind pulling strings and planning everything, while Hoody/Brian worked with him but clearly had his own agenda. The reason I bring this up is because a lot of things have been bothering me.

For one, in the AMA whenever they answered a question they referred to TTA as TTA. Not Hoody or Brian. While they usually answered all hoody related questions by calling him Brian. Also there was a specific question that was answered with "TTA is very good at spying on people." I think it's a little too much of a coincidence that they keep referring to TTA as a separate person from Brian.

Secondly it seems that they had a different motivation. In the TTA videos he seems obsessed with one thing in particular. Jay. He believes he is essential in obtaining what he wants, yet he does this in a very careful and passive way. Never giving out too much information about himself or even what he wants, but just enough to keep Jay going. And the TTA videos stopped as soon as Jay was killed. With Jay gone either TTA finally got what he wanted or there was nothing left he could and he had failed. While Hoody/Brian has always obsessed about one thing. Tim. At every turn it seemed Hoody/Brain wanted to expose Tim in anyway possible. Again, for reasons unknown. Calling him a liar, giving Jay his medical records, leaving a tape of them working together. It seemed he was angry at Tim for giving up and trying to push away the past and forget everything he was, everything that happened, and trying to live under a guise of lies he created for himself. He was trying to wake the real Tim (Masky) up, because the only thing he had any hope in was his lost friend.

The one thing Masky/Tim, Hoody/Brian, and TTA had all in common was they're hatred of Alex They wanted to end what had started all those years ago. I believe they all worked together for many years to take down Alex and The Operator. But as time went on Tim ran away, unable to go on anymore. Hoody/Brian fought on but lost his humanity in the process, simply becoming "a shell of person." And TTA, clearly losing the battle, placed his last hopes in Jay.

While I have other small evidence against this and for this, there is really no definitive evidence that TTA was Brian, and I'm beginning to think that maybe this is for a reason. Perhaps the uncracked codes in the TTA videos would provide more clues but alas there are many that are still unsolved. Again, perhaps I've been reading too much into it, and my want of a more deep and detailed ending is getting in the way of just accepting that things were just poorly implemented and thought out. But I can't help but wonder.

Well, at the Conneticon Q&A, they were asked who totheark was, and they said they wanted it to be ambiguous. They said they had their own idea about who it was, but even that interpretation had a little wiggle room. Still, the AMA question you're referring to is talking about enttry #37, which for all we know could have been Hoody or Masky. So they just say "totheark" but that's what the person was asking about specifically, and I don't think they wanted to confirm who it was (They said they wanted it ambiguous).

Actually no, there's another totheark video, Null, between 82 and 83. Jay dies in 80. Ya know who does die in 83 though? Brian. Also, totheark is always calling Tim a liar. Look at "Conversion".

I think evidence was pretty explicit. If you look at Jay's twitter when "obervsation" was posted, you'll see totheark hacks it, posts a picture from observation before the video itself goes up, and then links observation. Then he talks about lightning. A few days later, "entry" goes up, which totheark links on Jay's Twitter saying "this is for you". Jay re-uploads this as Entry #61. Also, both observation and Entry #61 are filming Tim outside that same window, and Hoody is definitely filming in 61.

There's also him saying "see you soon" in Session right before his reappearance in 58, totheark in Intermission being in the same place as Jay during Entry #40, and Hoody appearing there 15 minutes later in 41. Hoody's also in a lot of them. Classified, Sidetone, Isolation, and Surveillance. Also, 61 and 68 use the same font as totheark, which is especially relevant in 68, because the text is clearly a response directly from Hoody to Alex in the video. Plus, the baby doll from Intermission was in the Hoody Hut. Also, totheark's base of operations during Season 1 is Brian's house.

The way I see it there are two likely possibilities, one is that Masky worked with totheark, who was himself Hoody/Brian, or that Masky and Hoody were both totheark before Season 3, with Hoody eventually taking over. Jay tweeted at one point the totheark videos were so inconstant that it was almost like multiple people were making them, but that he could never prove that. I think this distinction is probably what the creators were talking about with the wiggle room.

Okay getting back on topic the guys confirmed that
-Tim and Brian went to Applebee's at the end of the audition
-Alex is was a bad man
-While Rocky was a good dog
-Tim and Jessica had the same doctor
-There's still something unsolved in the TTA videos since Troy is both horrible and excellent at making codes (speaking of which Troy AT LEAST GIVE US SOME KIND OF CLUE)
-Skully was gonna be Jay's masked state, but they scrapped it
-They're posting the new series to the MH channel (which I don't see a very good reason to do IG. We could've just gotten a TTA-like video with a link to the new channel since Skully and Tim are "still out there")
- Joseph Touches Another Grapefruit will not be uploaded onto the MH channel

Am I missing something?

I can see why they're going to upload the new series to the MH channel. I mean it's to reach the maximum audience possible. If they made a new channel or uploaded it to the THAC channel not as many people would probably see it.
