Enter The Quest (Trailhead) A new ARG of some sort? I was minding my own business earlier today when suddenly I got a strange email that, to my surprise, did NOT read like spam!
Labeled "Internal Memo, do not Distribute" it contained the following:
Quote:
To Whom It May Concern:
Until further notice, Dr. Emily Otis will be on a temporary sabbatical to conduct research overseas. Work on OASIS should continue without interruption.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
Sincerely,
The ETQ Design Team
Doing some poking around found me a link to a website enterthequest.com , which looks fairly interesting except that most of the significant areas of it are locked away behind passwords! Looking into what I can find, though, it seems to be about an MMORPG of some kind, and there is a hidden message on one of the pages if you look hard enough. If people can't find it I'll put it up a bit later.
I haven't recently had much time for ARGs, but I may play this one... kind of involved in two others I should get back to, though. I figured I'd at least post it up here because I didn't see someone had already put up a link to this.
I received the above email from infoSPLAT enterthequest.com, which is available if people want to ask the creators of this MMO more.
UPDATE: This is an ARG, and an interesting one at that. I don't have the time to maintain an wiki, but pertinent links and info will go up here and if someone starts a wiki I'll link to it here as well.
Available email addresses we can contact:
infoSPLAT enterthequest.com -> The email address for general info on Enter The Quest, the group designing this new MMO.
Known In-Game Sites:
http://www.enterthequest.com/home.html -> The site that started it all
http://emilyunderwater.blogspot.com/ -> Blog of the lead developer of the MMO/Potential game piece?

Got that email too... Really odd. Wonder how they got my email, I guess on the interaction thread? I'll poke around the site some later, but I'm horrible with codes.

Oi! I can solve it, it just takes me some time is all. Already busy with my own stuff though. There's a hidden message on the About page I'll get to in a bit, I guess that's what Zobot's taking about.

find th(e?)m in pieces
But there's also a code of some sort with the dates once you sign up.Plus the one on the signup page proper. I guess the dates page/signup page are used together for the grid? Huh. Try it in a bit.
EDIT: Eh, didn't really work. Guess it's something else.

You beat me to it amandel. I was just about to post that exact same thing.
This looks pretty cool, if not just for the game itself:
Quote:
Oliver and Amalie is an MMORPG about two kids living in a futuristic society who decided to take on a multinational oil company.
I'll definitely be watching this.

your link broke for me, but removing /home.html worked. Maybe it was a temporary glitch, but i like having a clickable link.

We don't have any passwords for anything yet, to my knowledge we have no real puzzles or even any indication that this is a game beyond the hidden codes on the website. Level 1 and Level 2 remain sealed and there's only a comment if you register your email address to expect stuff March 5th.
Someone might find something in the HTML of the code, I've heard theres often stuff hidden there but I dunno how to check that stuff on Google Chrome...
other than that I guess we just watch and wait for now?
EDIT: Correction, we also have an email address we can contact. I will try emailing them about the website..

I sent them an email
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
asking who Emily is.
I got a response:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Thank you for your inquiry and your interest in our website.
Dr. Emily Otis is the lead developer at Learning Games, Inc. but is currently on a temporary sabbatical to conduct research overseas.
Sincerely,
The ETQ Design Team
This information about who it is, is on the About page anyway, but lets see where this train takes us about what else he said.. I'll fill in the response to my reply email when I get it.
