I just signed up and got a slightly different reply:
Quote:
Greetings ADI Internship Applicant,
Thank you for applying to the Acoustic Distortion Inc's internship program. As you know ADI is a world leader in acoustics research and sound technology. This is a cutting edge field and we have found that finding employees that fit the ADI mold and who have the necessary skills for our ground breaking research has become extremely difficult. Thus, we have created this internship program to narrow down our potential candidate pool and to be able to better know the strengths and weakness of our applicants.
We are currently trying to establish a system of non-radio frequency communications using pulsed and focused acoustic projection. For this we will need several encryption/decryption specialists. So we are searching for applicants who have talents in puzzle solving and code breaking.
This will be an unpaid internship program consisting of several coded puzzle assignments which we will supply over the coming months. At the end of which we will be able to identify the best applicants; that have shown the ability to solve these assignments, as well as work well with the others.
We have found that the 'group think' dynamic is the most successful way to conduct research in our field. In the past we have been known to hire an entire group of applicants because of the way they worked together.
Once we have reached the ideal number if applicants, we will release the 1st puzzle assignment through our Intern Forums on our website. You will be notified and given access to the forums at that time. The rest will be up to you and your fellow applicants.
Thank you again for applying to ADI. I personally look forward to getting to know each of you and seeing your talents and what you are capable of achieving.
Sincerely,
Jane Chisholm

I just got a new email saying that the forums are now available:
Greetings!
Welcome to the Acoustic-Distortion Inc. Outreach Programme!
The Intern Forums are now open:
http://www.acoustic-distortion.com/internforums/
Please register and fill out your profile as completely as you are willing.
There is more information for you in the Announcement thread as well, please make sure you read it.
Once you have done that, introduce yourselves to us and your fellow Intern Class in the social and location threads.
Your first Intern Class Project will be released on Tuesday Aug 19th 2014.
I will be in and out of the forums over the weekend to answer any questions. We are still dealing with the aftermath of a fire at our research faculty which affected some of our computing facilities, so my access is sometimes spotty, but I will try and respond to questions as I am able.
Thank you again for your interest in joining us here at Acoustic-Distortion Inc..
Sincerely,
Jane Chisholm

Hi all, I'm new here and hope to help. When I found acoustic-distortion.com a few days ago I googled and found you guys and lurked a couple of days.
I noticed right of the bat that the news are of acoustic-distortion.com was giving an error. When the on site forum opened I asked Jane about it, she said probably the fire, they should have it up soon.
It's up as of right now. http://www.acoustic-distortion.com/news/
I noticed in the source an image that isn't being shown on the page.

I don't have good software and maybe it's nothing, but I would like to see what's in those windows.
Hope I'm useful. lol

Purchase Order I used the "Contact Us" to attempt to purchase 100 APR-1030s and try to rent the anechoic chambers. (Under different emails/ names). I am still waiting for a response.

Welcome to Unfiction Domojz! As I stated in the other forum before, everything here is officially considered "out of game" so feel free to discuss to your hearts content.
As for your purchase order, let us know how that goes if you get a response.
Quick question, was it you or the PM's that deleted your thread on the Intern Forums? Just out of curiosity.
ETA: While I'm here I guess I should welcome you too, Tadoa!

This is a response to the grim ace but I don't know how to quote with HTML. Anyway.
It was the mods, but only because I specifically asked them too. It's odd that while we have the ability to create threads, we can not delete them. Also, why is this called the unforum on unfiction.com? What's with the "un-"s?[/quote]

Well these forums use BBCode just like the A-D ones do, and there should be a quote button under each post.
As for why the name Unfiction was chosen, I suppose that would be a good question for SpaceBass who, if I'm correct, was the maker of this place. But if I had to guess, it's because ARG's are "more than" or "not just" fiction, (they're even referred to as "chaotic fiction" on here too) thus "unfiction".

Thanks Grim, can't wait for the game to actually start so that I stop picking apart the website.
I noticed that each picture of each weapon leads to a pdf, but it's just a really bad computer rendering of the weapon for some odd reason.
Edit:
I just know this guy is gonna be responsible for some crazy accident lol
Just look at that face.
Edit Edit:
I had my avatar as to see if Jane would say anything, she didn't so I went back to Curious George.

There have been several other references to this being a 'game', we had to delete a thread yesterday that made no sense at all, many of our applicants talked about being 'agents' and mentioned 'ingress' (whatever that is) or ARGs (What is that pirate talk???) in their applications. It's no wonder many of them are looking for work if that is the professionalism they show.
OUCH! Well that kinda hurt.
There ya have it... this is most definitely "not a game."
