Questions for the community about ARGs for a research paper

I'm currently writing a term paper about the ways that ARGs affect the way we think about the 'real world'. Basically my thesis is that playing ARGs makes you more perceptive and better at problem solving. I was wondering if anyone has any personal experience with this that I could talk about in my paper.

So,
Do you think that you are more aware of your surroundings now than before you started playing?
&
How do you think ARGs help to develop these skills?
