 		Isn't this the number we thought was a phone number..?
I think we went down that road but it yielded nothing. Have you had any luck in getting it to correspond to anything else?

Adding to that, the picture 345 is Canister Spies, the one we thought we were being lead to before with canspiritsee....

I'm wondering if anything of import happened on 10/31/2005. Perhaps there is a clue we are missing?

That seems about the time the game originally started.

That said, I find it interesting that the dates are in groups of threes.

There's the three that spell kokonotsu:
111511 151415 201921

There's the three that are on RM's birthday:
311001 311005 311007 (this makes me think the significant numbers here are 1, 5, and 7)

And then there the three dates, that I can't figure out how they are correlated:
010108 011103 011005

... Hmm, looking at those last ones all spelled out, I realize that if you remove the years (08, 03, 05) the rest kind of look like binary, and would be 5, 7, 6

 		The three birthday dates... 2001 was as far as I can tell the birth of splinternails on the internet, 2005 was launch of qu13e version 1, 2007 was launch of qu13e version 2.

The last set of three numbers are intriguing me. They have always troubled me as they don't fit within any previous pattern or rhythm, until I saw them written out together here. They never made sense as dates. January 1st 2008, November 1st 2003, October 1st 2005. 2008 was a date in the future. January 1st was a running theme on Japanonymous but nowhere else in particular, far as I know. Every January 1st an altered version of the qu13e absinthe picture was posted on Japanonymous. October special references almost always focused on the 31st. I can't remember anything off the top of my head regarding November.

Shadows entrance. Nowherexits. Sight. Slash. Answer

Could Sight Slash Answer be

site = www.qu13e.com
slash = /
answer = ? (not sure what the answer is)

as in
www.qu13e.com/?

Then Shadows entrance could possibly be indicating an entrance to somewhere.

Nowherexits I'm not sure about, maybe it's indicating going off another location for the answer such as www.qu13e.com/039/? where Nowherexits makes more sense.

Thoughts?

Concerning 010108, though, while I still think the binary part might be significant, the date itself is also significant. You might recall from the previous thread that January 1st 2008 is when qu13e in it's current form started.

sirgreentoad, this is awesome. As soon as I saw this I had to confirm a statement I previously made in the thread concerning the robots.txt. The robots.txt file does contain a list of directories the owner of the domain doesn't want a robot to crawl, but it only has to list the directories that are actually linked in the index.html

This means the directories listed in the robots.txt are not necessarily the only directories we can visit in qu13e.com. I think you're absolutely correct that "Sight. Slash. Answer" might mean we need to enter a new directory at qu13e.com. In fact, I was just looking at a thread concerning a puzzle from the old old days of qu13e and it seems that the solution to the puzzle did lead to finding a new url within qu13e.

As for Shadows Entrance, I wonder if that applies to the SHEGRIEF image, where is has hidden in the black part of the image the text "EYE HIDE HEAR"...

Damn sirgreentoad that's great insight. I'd imagine that's definitely what it means.

I can say for sure that unless there's script in the source code specifying such then there's nothing for us to click on.

And I was wondering if anyone has actually done much with reading QUIXE as QUNINEE?
It is worth a shot if no one has already.

I agree that this idea about 'sight slash answer' could certainly be correct

Definitely not too late to join. I think we are still at the beginning of the puzzle... it's just that we've been there for a few years....

Rika, I'm hoping you're finding something with those ones and zeros. You may have already come across this, but I was looking again at your post on how you almost got the third key, and I got this:

Line them up by their "number position" (I'm sure that term is going to catch on if we keep talking about these image names), and you get:

101009

compare that with the other ones:

011103
011005
010108
100109

It just looks too similar to be a coincidence, I'm hoping it might mean something to you.

 		It has been so long I can't remember how to quote multiple posts to respond to them, ack. How does that magic happen?

Regarding sight slash answer... yes I absolutely believe that is suggesting to go to www.qu13e.com/fill in your answer here. I try this with every shred of an idea I have. No luck with it, ever. In addition, I believe the I am the key picture was also in qu13e version 1, well before we got stuck. But, it's never been solved to my knowledge, whatever secrets it might hold. For what it's worth I suspect Nowherexits is linked to the pic of the door, the here's where can't remembers hide one.

Regarding quninee, I see quinine, like for malaria, who knows what the intent was.

Regarding joining, join us! Please! Splinternails loves fresh blood.

Okay, now the ones and zeroes. I can't make any relevant binary happen. I am extremely sure that we are in the right place, though. And here's what I am playing with. Breaking the 9 down into 3 sets and matching the page name numbers with the image name from each page...

Set 1 kokonotsu
111511 hg01as
151415 g10sha
201921 agsixh

Set 2 birthdays
311001 aixgsh
311005 h01gas
311007 gs10ha

Set 3 the rest
010108 gsh10a
011103 hga01s
011005 agixsh

So each set contains one of each image name... as in one 01 one 10 one IX. I can see something but I can't catch it yet.

Edited to add... I still stand by 911 or 110901 as my answer. Muse of tragedy, after all. But clearly I am missing something, or a step. For years... and years...

Just throwing this out there, I don't think the result of the ones and zeros will immediately mean anything, just like everything else we seem to find . But maybe it is part of a bigger puzzle.

For example, I've been playing with the numbers that come up as a result of the 1's and 0's and then using what I believe is the key from the "I Am The Key" image to replace them.

the best I have been able to find is taking 5, 6, 7 (the binary numbers), 8, 3, 5 (the last two digits of the binary number set), and 1, 5, 7 (the years from the birthdays) and replacing them with what I believe is the corresponding letter from the random martin key to get an anagram for "android ii"...

So probably not the right direction... but the point being there is probably something we have to do with whatever numbers we get from here.

Also, let me just throw this out there. I was going to email this to splinternails as potentially the third key, but I'm not sure he's playing that game anymore:

Rika, a handful of years ago, you asked melpomene if 109 and 1019 were the third key, working this out from the image names from the kokonotsu images.

but what if instead of agsixh = ags09h, we do agsixh = ag06h?

There's a couple of different numbers you might be able to come up with doing this, one though is 116. I can't think of anything to do with this, but I was thinking about some of the interesting, subtle links to 9/11 in the game. 116 is literally 911 spun completely around 180 degrees.

Might mean something, might not. Putting a pin in it...

I really like that train of thought, and it's a new one I believe. That is Random style thinking. Run with it... somewhere.

In addition, my anime watching kids recently informed me that the emergency number in Japan isn't 911. It's 110 for police and 119 for fire/ambulance. I don't know if it is relevant, but it is something I didn't know and figured I should post here for the sake of completeness.
