Tim's fate This is probably a matter more divisive even than whether #87 was a satisfying ending.
Thoughts?

Lived, obviously. He posted the entry and there was no indication that his life was in peril. Also, you should have made the second choice "Die hard".

Technically, "Die" is the proper answer regardless of what happened, because everyone has to go sometime.

Actually that's true. Obviously he'll die eventually, just not in relation to the events of Marble Hornets.

Honestly, it could go either way. Although, Tim's expression at the end of 87 seems to imply that he considered taking Alex's advice.

He has a new vial of pills, so I assume he lived? Unless he wanted to give us the impression he lived. But I believe even if he is alive now he will probably kill himself at some point. I'm sure he has plenty to live for, but I'm not sure he knows. that.

There is evidence pointing to both directions. On the one hand, Alex's last words were that Tim has to kill himself, which is pretty significant in a film. The heavy distortion in Entry 87 could also indicate the start of Tim killing Jessica. "Everything is fine" is alluding to "Decline" and you can hear sirens while Tim drives away.
On the other hand, Tim clearly stated that he thinks Alex is just feeding it.
And you cannot deny the fact that Alex went crazy. Bruce is the only evidence needed for that. Bruce was not "infected." Alex had no idea who he was. He just went batshit crazy and murdered the mofo. If Tim knew this, you'd think he wouldn't trust Alex ever again.
I would also like to point out that along with killing himself/Jessica, I believe a somewhat "third" option exists. I think Tim began to become the next "Alex" at the end of Entry 86. The reason behind it is because after Tim stabs Alex in the neck and lays off for a bit, The Operator shows up. After what looks like some struggling, Tim suddenly violenty jumps onto Alex and brutally finishes him off. And THAT is why Alex then says "you see how it spreads?" He was implying that the Operator made tim get infuriated with rage, much like we see Alex on Bruce, and even JAY on TIM (unsuccessfully). When Jay forgives Tim on the phone but it doesn't go through, we see that The Operator most likely made Jay angry at Tim again. So, when Tim hears Alex and sees how it "spreads," he realizes that he will soon go crazy just like Alex did. Thats why you can't tell if Tim was laughing or crying at the end of Entry 86. Its part of the ambiguity. Was he crying because he killed someone? Or was he laughing because he was going crazy? Or was he crying because he realized he had to kill himself/he was going crazy?

I've thought about it & I think there's 1 thing that clearly didn't happen:
He did not live a relatively normal life.
There were a couple of points in Entry 86 that showed that Tim was wrong when he believed that he learned how to block The Operator out.
First, he downed a bunch of pills when he saw The Operator. It disappeared for a few seconds. Then it warped right in front of him & teleported him again. So the resistance offered by the pills, if any, isn't enough to stop The Operator. It could have even just been toying with him.
The Operator would later appear when Tim stabbed Alex. Tim actually started to back off, but when The Operator appeared, he yelled like he was losing control & eventually jumped on Alex & killed him.
Therefore, if Tim didn't kill Jessica, & he didn't kill himself, he will eventually "become the next Alex," as someone else put it. That may not be until years in the future, but Tim has not escaped from this.

Whatever happens, he does not "live free". The presence of The Operator is something both he'll have to cope with his entire life. He may be free to choose his own course, but he cannot be entirely free of The Operator any more than he can be free of breathing air.

It's too bad he won't live. But then again who does?

Somehow Alex went from the Operator-haunted life he was leading while shooting Marble Hornets to the seemingly Operator-free life he had with Amy, up until the point when she brought out the camera.
Tim seemingly lived an Operator-free life between the ending of the MH filming to the time when Jay brought him back into the mix.
Jay seemingly lived an Operator-free life between the MH filming and getting involved with looking at the tapes.
I'm not sure if it is the camera, the locations (Rosswood, hospital, old college, etc) or both, that cause The Operator to stalk people, but we do have 3 instances within the story where people seemingly lived Operator-free existences.

You're right and it makes things appear more optimistic for Tim. Either Tim gradually or somehow gets better as he appeared to do by the time Jay found him, or the latest period of slendersickness was so 'intense', or special so that Tim is now overwhelmed by it and has no choice but to kill himself. The former implies he didnt hurt jessica in the last entry and he was right, the latter implies he possibly did hurt jessica, and Alex was right.
