Foresting just came onto chat with a base64 string to be decoded. Wish I'd seen this thread before I forked over my answer.

Anywho, if anyone is folowing it, I wouldn't want him to be the only one to get the decodes:

I have received communication from a trusted source that the line of Sargon is at play also. They will be working hard to lay claim to what they believe to be their birthright. Over the next two days, I will attempt to discover who is their agent this time. Since none of us were around during the chaos of their last agent, it may be difficult to track this down.
Has anyone heard from 0? I'm concerned that about his silence.
I have not yet disposed of mine, as I do not see clear and present threat. I am reluctant, given the sudden increase in the reemergence of the old lines, to do so.

Well, I *HAD* seen the thread here. As soon as Mister Man posted the message board holding the original copy of this second coded message, I just publicly replied with the decode over there. It does not seem fair to anyone when he has set up his little team, stands to gain financially (or, at least, with prizes or whatever), and then trolls #uf to perform all the solves for him.
I do not mind helping people find solutions for themselves, but "solve this for me" without any context, and then 90% of the way through the solve discovering the actual situation--we're being used--really irks me.

If I could be so bold as to say to Mr(s). Foresting -- many people do not appreciate being taken advantage of. If you require someone to be decoding a cipher for you, at least be up front about the purposes.
I will be on the watch for further development of this post as well as any happenings while I am in #unfiction.

Yeah, no question teams of 4, competition for prizes. Which means shame on foresting for trying to use UF to move his team ahead without telling us. If he'd been honest someone probably would have helped anyway. Cuz we aren't like that.
My suggestion to UF members - help findtherings players if you want, but post the answer on the findtherings forums for EVERYBODY. Or join a team and help your teammates. And to foresting: we like honesty much better.
Well, anyone up for forming a team or a few teams? If you haven't already?

Just to be fair - last night in chat foresting did say what this was for, and invited everyone from unfiction to participate.

I am sorry for not being completly honest. I was afraid that if I told too much all the experts here would join in the contest and I would have no chance since I am a noob. Most people on this sites are so much better than me at this so I was scared of such good competition. Will you please forgive me. I did not mean to take advantage of anyone. Please forgive me.

well at least his actions have gained more interest in the game here than when it was first mentioned. Maybe Giskard should've tricked us into getting involved

Well, I was thinking about setting up this scheme were I would pretend to be a noob and try and get you to solve some puzzles and then gain some interest and... erh... right...
Actually, it didn't really gain my own interest, as I'm not a very good code-breaker myself, but I knew that there are quite a few amazing cryptologists around on uF, so I thought I'd post... foresting did a much better PR job however

I'm interested in playing, but I don't have anywhere to setup some private forum. So i think i'll just post around here.(unless someone else makes something) I don't think i'll be able to claim prizes anyway.

I'm interested in playing too. I've been folowing it, and here is the new code:

The frequency table hints to me that it is a transposition cipher. I have a phpBB set up for exploit testing that I may be able to reconfigure if people want to have a private area. At this point, I think it's all exercises, not really any prizes. I think the prize puzzles won't start until May.

credit to BrianEnigma, and little tiny credit to me
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
put it into a grid 16 chars across and read top-to-bottom left-to-right, the first 4 chars are a date, and on the right of the grid there are 'x' for padding
this is what it says:

I believe that you can request a private group be set up. It would be under the user groups but you have to ask the right person. (honestly right now I am drawing a blank, SpaceBass maybe??) That way you wont be giving the answers to your rivals who might stumble upon this board.
