Sacred Myths and Legends
Wooden Puzzles to find some treasure

Does anyone on here have any of the Sacred Myths and Legends puzzles? I bought the Da Vinci puzzle for my boyfriend and I've just recieved the second in the post, the Equation, yesterday. It appears to be a complicated tangram, and it's driving me nuts.

You can buy them both off firebox and places, if you want to see a description that's a good place to look.

Anyway, back to the Equation. We got Da Vinci open (eventually), but I'm not even entirely sure what I'm supposed to be doing with the Equation. I already have the scroll, so why am I putting the base together exactly?

Anyone with any sort of hints would be muchly appreciated. Smile

Where did you buy them from? That'd be a cool gift for my dad, he's a puzzle junkie like I am.

You can buy them here or here...

As for the solve of the Equation; I have no idea... Embarassed

Doesn't the scroll you found in the DaVinci puzzle give any clues?

Yay all the more cool stuff to add to my Firebox order that I was in the middle of making.

Eeep I think it's going to be crazy on shipping...going to the US website.

I'm buying the Da Vinci one for my dad for Xmas. He'd love it and he's really hard to buy for.

Edit: Found a website for a Pensalvania store...

I have the first three and have been trying to get DaVinci open. I know what to do, just haven't gotten the right combo.

On the Equation... I have NO IDEA. The only thing I could think of was a set of magnets or something in it.

Check the corner blocks of the base... does on side of one corner seem "odd" to you? Mine almost feels hollow compared to the others.

I know that the middle of the DaVinci (the large brown square) has equations and engravings on it. Not sure if that helps on #2 or not (since I don't have that center piece out yet)

Two things I have read:
1) Use a piece from #1 to solve #2 (have to assume the middle piece)
2) Release the scroll from #2???!!!??? HUH? Where the heck is it??? In that hollow section?

Okay, I finally got Puzzle #1 open (thanks Sarah B for the nudge!)

And I can confirm that the center piece of Puzzle #1 is part of Puzzle #2 (The Equation). I have some ideas on what to do, but I have to got get some clear film and graph paper to try it out.

So - has anyone done any figuring on the password of Puzzle #1?

Clue on Scroll:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Letters and numbers will make you smile when you've deciphered the password and get closer to the treasure

Also on the inside of the core of the puzzle:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A Mans Oil

Obviously an anie for:

Mona Lisa

Thoughts?

Also - is there a discussion board somewhere for these puzzles? I have been looking for months and haven't found a forum (other than this thread)

more questions

When Lining this puzzle up, Is the top of the puzzle the one with the circle and the square on it?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Next, Do I pull the top off, or twist it off? I can see a few pins in there, and a center slat that appears to turn. Is the trick to twist that middle slat?

The top would be the "square and circle" engraving.

You would pull it apart. No twisting of the ends. Only the center discs.

Da vinci is killing me

I'm running out of patience with this puzzle! I've lined up the blocks, dark to light, lined up the internal grooves and still can't get the darned thing open. I've turned the grooves to match with both pins, and nothing works. HELP!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The "side pins" that you see when you pull the top of the puzzle up are not the groove pins to align to. Look at the shaft of the puzzle and you will see where the shaft is cut so that the piece will slide out. That is where you align the notches of the discs. The other pins are there to keep the discs on when you finally remove the centre shaft from the puzzle.

My friend and I twisted turned and pulled everyway we could yesterday. And Pop! Do those blocks come off? Should they? That's the next puzzle!?!
I'm on to solve the equation. although, the password thing has me stuped too. The obvious answers never work do they?

Congrats on getting the puzzle open!

As far as the discs are concerned:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
One of the pins on the center shaft that holds the discs is connected by a magnet. You can pull it free and then slide the discs off.

As far as the next puzzle, The Equation:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Take the centre disc (the large dark one) off the centre spindel. It has engravings like the Equation base does. What they mean... I don't know.
