Assuming this is genuine, then....
OK, I'm c) but don't have that much time on my hands. Don't hang around in chat much, so mail or PM me if you think I can help. Oh - and if you're looking for possible PM's then have a look here for some other interested parties.
If you are genuine, then 1) apologies for doubting you and 2) join! At the risk of sounding like an ad, it's free and there are plenty of experienced PM's around here, so the talent you're after could be just around the corner.

I'd like to add:
3. Check the Puppet Masters' Guide Board, there is a thread for people to list there skills, interest and availalbility. You could contact them privately and not send up a flare signal.

TINAG - sorry if I came off a bit cynical there - in my defence it was late and I'd just been looking at another forum that has recently been inundated with what I'll politely describe as less-than-genuine posts. So, I got my days exercise by jumping to a conclusion
As Magesteff said, have a look at the PM recruitment area. There are quite a few of us who are interested in being involved on the other side of the curtain, you shouldn't have any problems getting a team together. In fact you might find you end up with too many...

Heh, won't we be surprised that all the players were in some way or another BTS/PM's?

Yeah, it seems that everyone who plays an ARG, wants to slide behind the curtain (at least for a bit). Maybe we need some sort of community ARG. The Ultimate Unfiction Mini-ARG Contest! Or you know what would be fun (but probably an insanely bad idea) a community ARG cut into episodes. We form teams and each get an episode. Team 1 would do episode 1, then Team 2 would have to pick up where Team 1 left off. (like I said. probably an insanely horrible idea that would crash and burn, hehe). Anyway, it would be nice to somehow get alot of people involved to get a taste of being behind the curtain to see if they have the time and patience to do an ARG on a grander scale.

<evil grin> Hmmmm.... let's see, OK we would need some ground rules...
How about this...
1. There must be no need to outlay any funding at all (practice for those of us who don't have financial resources on what is available) this means, no purchasing domain names, no paying for hosting This is practice, we don't need our good clothing yet.
2. Story arcs, we need to decide if we have the same characters run throughout, or if each section will have their own people (al la Theive's World short stories), and what the background is.
3. Don't worry about keeping the curtain, if there is trouble on a puzzle (i.e. something not spelled quite right), the puzzle creator should be able to go fix the problem, and then state, "ok it's fixed..."
4. Teams and possible deadlines for each section?
How does that look?

I have a standing offer to provide free hosting for grassroots games. I also have a few unused domains I'd be willing to loan to the project.
EDIT: Here is the original offer:

Yeah, I say no funding. Or maybe a spending limit of like $5 or $10. (I'm just thinking long distance call or postage if you want a real life event)

It would be interesting to see what different people could do with the same characters. But it also might be more interesting to see what characters people could come up with who are affected by some common event. Any ideas?

As long as everyone promises not to bug the creator(s) for hints. Not that it would happen anyway, since grumpyboy would solve everything while we're sleeping.

Oh man I love it, sounds like a great idea! Good opportunity for us wannabes to get our feet wet.
Can we move this discussion to another thread?

At the risk of sounding a bit "me too", can I as a wannabe say "me too" to pretty much all of the above... This sounds to me like a great way for those of us with no experience to try out some ideas, with the prospect of advice from real PM's if needed, no outlay aside from maybe the odd stamp, and no risk of massive meltdown. FWIW I like the idea of consistent themes affecting new characters with each new game.
A few random ideas... Maybe agreed teams at the start, a "running order" so each team knows roughly when it will be expected to provide it's contribution, and an agreed pause between episodes. After all, the next team in line will need some time to fine tune it's contribution - say, a month? It might be a little bit too structured doing it that way, but it could also be a lot of fun! It would also give a good opportunity for people to switch between PM and player without having to worry about where the curtain is.
Rambling again... take the above at face value, but I do think that this sounds like a great idea.
Last thought re a thread for this subject - what about "PM training ground" in the Puppet Master Guide section? *Crosses fingers and hopes that this happens*

Steff, I love your idea. When and if the "groups" are chosen, count me in. I hope someone will pick me.

Although (from what I hear) PMs have to often change story lines and puzzles on the fly in response to what the players do. Maybe a month is a little too long. If we really want this to be a PM training ground we should get used to quicker tight deadlines?
Any mods want to move this to it's own thread in the PM area?
