Does anyone back up blogs?
One from 2010 was taken down and I would really love to re-read it

I was wondering if there's anyone out there who happens to know how or just had backed up old blogspot blogs. There was this one blog that I particularly remember enjoying that was just titled: Ichthyological. (Website Link was ichthyological.blogspot.com) Some of you may remember it. I remember finding it via the compileTRUTH channel and his compilation videos and I remember reading it sometime I believe in mid-2012 and really enjoying the story. However, I recently got back into reading these blogs again for old times sake and to get myself back into what made me begin to enjoy the mythos in the first place, only to find that this blog has been deleted. :/ I tried going through to the wayback machine, but the farthest it goes back is to 2013, which it was already gone. I really want to read this story again in full and I was just wondering if there was anyone out there who backed up this blog in someway so that I could view and be able to read it again one more time. Any help would be greatly appreciated on helping me figure this out. Thanks a bunch in advance.

TL:DR Version: Old blog got deleted, anyone have a backup or a way of re-viewing said blog?

I've actually started archiving/backing up the blogs I've been reading, as I've noticed some of them have been losing portions of the story due to sites going offline (stickam, etc.). The near-loss of twitpic almost took out a whole lot of data for a very large number of blogs, various other sites that haven't gone down occasionally have done purges of old data (I believe I've seen broken links to a lot of tinypic images lately), and a lot of stuff has become impossible to find due to various URL-shorteners going offline.

I suggest that anyone reading a blog/etc. that they like back everything pertinent up as they find it, as you never know when it's suddenly going to disappear. I started doing this a while back after 3 or 4 of my favorite webcomics suddenly disappeared forever. All I have left of them are one or two individual comics I'd happened to have saved.

If you need information on how to save stuff, let me know and I can probably help you. One suggestion would be to timestamp what you do save so you can see the proper interactions of youtube/twitter/etc. in order if you go back to re-read it later.

Yeah, I wish I could've known how to do that back then. Even if so, I'm not sure entirely on how to back up blogspot blogs or any type of blog for that matter. I would love to learn how to do so though; that way I can back up the other blogs that are still up that I really enjoy reading such as Dreams of Darkness, Just Another Fool, etc. I really wish I could get the one above back though. I really liked that one and maybe there's still a chance, but I dunno :s

Well, that all depends. If it's just text, you can always just save the text into individual text files. Just timestamp them so you have proper reading order. If it's rich text (italics, bold, etc) you can use wordpad (or your OS's equivalent) and save as RTF. If you have a lot of embedded pictures, exporting the HTML or PDF may be the best (get a PDF printer such as CutePDF or the one from BullZIP.com for this).

More than likely, I'd do an HTML exporter if I could and make it one sole PDF or just a big DOC file. That's possible isn't it? :S
