That's not all. NYFairLady64 seems to have died recently. Her obituary's online, and there's a message within that's leading to a whole slew of revelations.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Tinyurl.com/Nyfairlady

It's led people to another surprise, too. Details on StopPlusUltra's twitter.

EDIT: Damn, didn't notice the new page.

@keigosenbei @jbowen55 and @AgentBacardi found her pin and a new login for Ray Bradbury:

a note in his archive leads to a mysterious book called "Conspiracy Queries: Uncovering the Secrets of Secret Societies", supposedly published in 1967, which has one Craigslist lising and one eBay listing

Notice the bisections?

problem is it already has a number of bids and it currently sits at $48. So if you'd like a mysterious piece of Optimist history, get ready to bring out the big bucks.

If you notice, this listing is from the Blast From The Past store, which is already tied to the Tomorrowland thread. So it seems to be coming full circle.

Question is: is it really available to purchase? And like it was just mentioned, who is going to shell out the money for it?

I assume it's a real bound book, but if you look at the contents it's actually a compilation of essays from different (real) authors. NyFairLady64 seems to have only written the last one. Looks like a great prop!

This guy's twitter feed is interesting:
https://twitter.com/bobo_pinky

It seems as if he was sent a new trailhead, with new instructions that specify something happening at The Observatron at Tomorrowland on the 28th of May.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The source code is a little suspicious. Again, I have no idea if this is an off-shoot of stopplusultra or some other fan having fun. However, the twitter is from a guy named Todd Young. Here's his facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/young.todd

1984 has significance in NyFairLady's journal entries. Something happened in 1984 that stopped progress in Tomorrowland. Todd Young has 84 Friends, and the site domain poaching him is net84.net (although it's a free hosting service unaffiliated with Disney)

Could be a coincidence. But it's something to keep an eye on.

Interesting, the morse code is specific to him.

TODD YOUNG WILL YOU REMEMBER THE FUTURE? ARE YOU AN OPTIMIST?

Strange also that the date on the note is the 28th. A week or so after the release of Tomorrowland this week. Strange that this would be a post-film thing.

Seems kinda shady that there's an ebay auction for an ARG item if you ask me :-\

The entire Todd Young thing seems pretty suspicious to me as a trailhead. Especially so since he's mentioned by name in the both the morse code & the code for the page. It would be understandable if that came up after some type of login to the page, but that's not the case. Why would ANY viral site name a single (real) person? (Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?) Not to mention, the code for the page hasn't changed/been updated after the discovery of the Wallace or Bradbury archives.

Todd Young is a very real person (not just an actor or persona created for this ARG). He's a photographer who has a studio in Culver City. His Facebook account isn't new. (I think the fact that he has 84 friends is nothing more than coincidence - unless he purposely conceals the rest on a hidden list). This is one of his websites: http://www.youngstudios.net

A quick search shows this address for his studio:
11112 Orville St., Culver City, CA

And that's likely the address that's partly showing behind the postcard in the pics he posted.

The 1st pic he tweeted today, of the an envelope & supposed +U communique doesn't look like a real photograph https://twitter.com/bobo_pinky/status/600315509733654529

The postmark on that postcard is "JUN 8 1959" & the stamp is 4 cent Old Glory (with either 48 or 50 stars - I can't quite make out from the pic). The stamp itself carries appropriate postage for the year (though the stamp itself may not be depending on the number of stars). The thing is, there's NO OTHER POSTMARK, and it didn't come in an envelope. So I really don't think it was mailed to him. (He claims he bought a Tomorrowland pin at downtown Disney a couple months ago, then received the envelope 2 weeks ago, and that the card just showed up in his porch with his other junk mail a week ago.)

The description on the back of the card is taken from an old Disney postcard for the giant Kaiser Aluminum Telescope:
http://sundrycollectibles.net/disneypostcards/cards/card_detail.php?id=11
https://www.flickr.com/photos/miehana/2295229537/
https://www.flickr.com/photos/miehana/2295221731/

At this point, everything seems to be pointing to Todd having created this himself. It's possible someone's having a bit of fun with him, but he can't be that naive & his story doesn't really make sense. As others have already pointed out, this "trailhead" doesn't seem to serve any purpose, and I can't really see it being official. But if it is official, it's the CLUMSIEST trailhead I've seen.

Oh I'm sure he's in on it, whatever it is. StopPlusUltra hired actors for their story so for them, or someone else, to rope in another person, possibly an existing Disney fan willing to maintain the illusion via social media, doesn't feel out of the ordinary to me.

A lot of things suggest this is the work of a fan. The use of the free domain builder net84.net is particularly dodgy. The Photoshopped mail images are in the same vein as StopPlusUltra so that doesn't bother me. But hey, if he's willing to put this much effort into it, why not follow along!

After all, StopPlusUltra sure didn't follow the typical ARG etiquette, but it turned up some interesting and unique artefacts.

Eternal Optimist
Conclusion of Stop Plus Ultra / Plus Ultra Society?

So, it seems like things are drawing to a close.

Those Optimists who had sent Blast From The Past a message through eBay received a message that the Conspiracy book had been stolen. The Craigslist posting was updated to reflect the same. In addition, they listed 11 bookstores where a copy of the book might be found. http://houston.craigslist.org/bks/5024855502.html
Quote:
EDIT: This book was stolen from our store last night, and we will be cancelling the listing in the next few days. Our intel indicates that you MIGHT be able to find a copy at one of the following ten locations:

Madison, TN - Book Attic
Wooster, OH - Books In Stock Used & Rare
Atlantic City, NJ - Princeton Antiques Book Shop
Blackwood, NJ - Book Asylum
Morristown, NJ - Old Book Shop
Winter Park, FL - Brandywine Books
Pasadena, CA - Book Alley
Hollywood, CA - Larry Edmund's Bookshop
Venice, CA - Small World Books
Long Beach, CA - Once Read Books
Anaheim, CA - Booktown USA

We would be grateful if you could procure them for us.
___

So far, 5-6 of the 11 have been found (Wooster, and I think all of the CA ones).

There are a couple ciphers inside that lead to a phone number, password for plusutrasociety.com and new videos. (More in the next post).

Content at optimist.net84.net has been updated too. All mention of Todd Young is gone Wink

Lots of new activity. Seems that book wasn't a one-off. Copies have been appearing in used books stores:

People have been uploading scans from inside:

If you find something no one else has commented on/decoded, by all means tell the owners.

Nevertheless, the Ebay listing currently stands at $135, which is kind of insane.

Edit: ah beat me to it.

I might be a little behind here, but looking at the scanned pages you notice letters dropped on the first few pages. These letters spell: FOLD PAGE ONE FIFTY ONE TO ITS CENTER.

This must reveal another clue of some sort. Does anyone have a picture to post of the folded page?
