Catherwood pointed out that there were 928 characters total, which is a multiple of 8. standard ASCII is 8 bits, 1's and 0's. working backwards (for no particular reason), I grouped the text in 8's and looked for patterns.
Several of the groupings were the same, so I compared to an ascii chart.
Code:
XXIIXIIX XXIIXIII
XXIIXIIX XXIIXIXI XXIIXXXX XIXXXIXX
XXIIXXXX XIXXXXXI XXIIXXXX XXIIXXXX
converting the X's to 0's and the I's to 1's, each of those last 10 fall in the Ascii range for capital letters and numbers.
6 7 6 5 0 A 0 A 0 0
which looks suspiciously like Ascii again (#'s and A,B,C,D,E,F) I group those in 2's and convert to Ascii again, you get "g", "e" , "line feed", "line feed", "null character"
so it sounds like it will just take us a few minutes to convert the whole message.

TOPS….Give Of thyself and Life Beacons
The character after the first S is ASCII 85, which isn't alphanumeric. It's the a with an accent. like this à (unless this is HTML specific, in which case hex 85 is an ellipsis "...")
Also, this link which is linked from the Unfiction Online Tools http://nickciske.com/tools/binary.php is super easy to use.
Also noted:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
the hashes in the blog entry in groups of 8, 13, and 4 (solved by jamesi). so 13August2004 maybe?
And finally, there is no lifebeacons.com up, so if anyone wants to buy it, feel free.

And the reply was:
Quote:
You are counted as a friend. Shall I call thee Jey for always and forever?
From where do you write?
2. Jey
And the new blog post looks like our names fit in there.

Revolution 9 Same response, with the names changed (to mine) to protect the innocent, and with the number 9. Number 9. Number 9. Number 9. Number 9. Number 9. ...sorry, got stuck in a revolution there.

Strangely, all names have been entered now. I thought perhaps we were supposed to solve the puzzle of who all joined... but guess not.
Also noted... #4, 8, and 13 are all italicized... and equivilates to 8/13/4, just like the hashmarks. Guess we'll know more on Aug. 13, 2004
