Agree with thejoker. You guys can't honestly think they thought of all this years in advance, I mean come on.

For now, 44 is insignificant, perhaps a random tweet to show the end of marble hornets and the start of the new series.

We'll just have to wait and see.

Uhh, no one suggested they thought this years in advance.

It's not insignificant, if it was it wouldn't be tweeted. I'm glad Joker agreed with my earlier point though, it's significance is based on context. We may not have enough to solve it right now but in time we have be given a code to solve it or the number 44 itself could be used to solve whatever comes next. We really have to wait and see.

People have suggested its connected to season 2 MH videos and that's pretty unlikely. It doesn't have to be a code anyway, it might just be teasing the new series somehow.

You didn't say 44 was insignificant.

You said "For now, 44 is insignificant," and then later got confirmation of the opposite.

Not wrong at all.

Good point.

So what does 44 mean? Title of new series? The 44 with the tree in a circle would make for a good profile pic imo. Basically the only thing we know of the new series is 44...and it's a follow-up rather than 'a new series', which could mean that it's tied to marble hornets a bit more closely that we first thought. The preview we got seemed found footagey. I know they said they originally were not going the go for found footage but maybe they decided to go for it anyway. Or they just thought it made for a good preview. I don't know. I like the idea of found footage and they handle it really well, but I think they would benefit from trying something else. Like Tim said, you have to treat the camera as a character, it needs to have a reason to be there. It needs to make sense for it to be there. They also brought up the point of being unable to show dramatic irony (the audience knowing something the characters don't) as the characters will always see what the audience see.

I can't wait for this series! Hopefully we get something soon.

The emblem does look to me like the logo for a public access or PBS station, as has been speculated by others, but it could also be for an organization of some type. Maybe related to a college, maybe some secret think tank like the Dharma Initiative... Or something else completely, I dunno. I favor the station conjecture myself. But what does it have to do with the series...?

Dunno, but does that look like security footage to you? It does to me--at least the ghost-white head still. That's the kind of found footage I wouldn't mind seeing. Either that or maybe something drawn in-series from the internet, maybe YouTube? The camera being there would make total sense without being cliched. Done much, yes. Cliched? Hardly.

If they opt for the station approach then it may not completely begin as found-footage, it may simply start with a few broadcasts of outdated news programmes, crappy soap operas or poor cartoons. And during a broadcast of the weather forecast the weatherman freaks out or something, just me gushing really. The prospect of what this series could be is hyping me ten times more than the actual teaser.

I hear ya. And could you imagine seeing some of Troy's animation on TV screens as some background sight gag, especially if the cartoons sorta foreshadow what's about to happen on screen? That's kind of a tall order to fill, but it'd be cool--and not out of character considering the detail that they added to Marble Hornets. (A couple of examples are the soap opera in the first season of Twin Peaks and the cartoons in Ghost Dog.)

Maybe not Troy's cartoons as his style may not work with it, I was thinking more kind of Cuphead/old school Mickey Mouse style, who knows they may even use some Rem and Stimpy or Angry Beaver style work. I haven't seen too much of Noah's style so we might get something there. But you're bang on about the Twin Peaks thing, I've struggled to see any huge similarities between it and MH but I imagine we'll see a much stronger resemblance in this. I've said it multiple times but I'm gonna say it again, if they do the channel I really hope each one of them does a semi-funny infomercials or deliberately bad production to go with the theme of the station. I know this isn't comedy but it would serve as good black-humour to ease us into it. It's not like Earth & You, the Patreon video and Nature Break will lead us otherwise.

I could definitely see that--shit with projectiles floating through pipes, demonic characters materializing from the woods, and a barnyard Greek chorus with washboard and accordion. The 'toons, I mean. I love it (makes me think of my favorite hit in Ghost Dog).

I think the Twin Peaks connection woulda been more obvious had there been more interaction with the locals and a bit more building up of the local myth. Even that antique sketch that seems to show an Operator figure AND something like the Hoody Hut could have become something more like Owl Cave in Peaks. It's more like Mulholland Dr. in this respect, in that the overall composition is loaded with stuff.

On the Twitter feed, though I believe it showed up once in the entries in the background at the start of Season Three. It's a clear attempt to provide more of a suggested mythology in the town around Rosswood.

Infomercials, Cyan--yes! Or early morning programming for combo juicer-food dehydrators and miracle cleaning agents. Take me back to high school and college in the '90s. They could certainly do it.

EDIT: @%! Maybe that's why the Morningstar Sinclair: maybe there'll be these goofly little satires and then there'll be something a bit more "serious" with him on TV!
