 		Spec on Solving
Ok, just some spec here that I've been thinking about on how to solve this.

1) "" is sometimes used for repeat in shorthand.
2) " in hex is 22.
3) " in decimal is 34.
4) Second verse same as the first *could* mean that we should start with the second verse now instead of the first one. "Sing once again for me..."

Ok, back to brainstorming.

 		Do we think that the current blb page has anything to do with the current problem? You have the first verse to Christine, the second a riddle to Raoul and the pi.mid playing in the background (located in /music/math/ instead of just /music). Could there be any signifigance in any of this?

I showed the puzzle to my music friend (who's also a math person, hee), and one of her first thoughts was that the sequence was similar to how pi music is generated. Pascal's Triangle or Fibonacci didn't seem to work though.

IMO I think they are related though... the blb front page music did change after we got out the notes we needed from the original midi. Hmm.

Not unless someone got the decode and didn't post it. Or do you mean just the extraction?

 		We discovered the hidden notes from the midi on April 15th

The main page for blb did not change from "Come to me Angel of Music! Listen to the Music of the Night" until April 19. This gave us the "Second Verse, Same as the first" page. This page was up until later that night. Around 7pm or so is when it changed to the Christine and Raoul verses.

They who have come before, Know of the Phantoms Lair might mean music. So maybe the next page is still realted to music or the notes and that is what we are supposed be searching for??

Mirrors might mean a mirror image. Look for something backwards, the mirror image?? Or start from the bottom instead of the top?? Or right to left instead of left to right??

Still not sure why it took four days to change if all that was required to facilitate that change was the note extraction. Know what I mean? Why change the midi, when it was quite obvious by the forums that the notes hadn't been arranged and page hadn't been found yet?

That's why (at least in the beginniing) I assumed that the pi music was an intended clue to solving the first page. But with the "math" title, it goes along with page two. And if that is the case, then this has to have some kind of bearing on the "equation"notation.

Confused

Well "has to" may be a little strong (grasping at straws).

Maybe it's a date? 19""8""77 ( August 19 1977 )

 		just a thought... maybe all the math references (pi, +/-, melody's "I'm not into math" talk) are misleading us. what if for instance the plus and minus signs are not arithmetic operators but something else. if you align the numbers like this...

21-1+
22-23+

14-16+
14-20+

20-11+
42-33+
43-15+
33-2

... it's easy to see that the numbers also can be viewed as a list of pairs, each pair separated by a plus sign. I've tried mapping the pairs to row-column positions in the lyrics and thinking about something similar for midi notes but so far no luck.

Did you mean 21-1+22-23 gives you 21, 20, 42, 19?

21, 20, 22, 19 gives you "r d e n" while 21, 20, 42, 19 gives you "r d h n". That and I can't figure out how you would come up with 22 followed by 19.

EDIT: And how did you come up with +129-37? Right now I'm having problems figuring it out.

Second EDIT: I got that 148 = g, but for 111 I got "e" following your instructions. 109, 110, 111 = t h e (phantom of the opera). The closest r I could find would be at 115.

Your right, 111 does give e. I had a typo in my list of letters

Conclusion. Ignore my earlier post completely.

Using Anvil Studio, as far as I can see PhantomMain.mid has just one track.

it actually has 16 tracks, none of which muted. I use cakewalk sonar.
