Okay, I think I might have a small breakthrough with the word categories. The next image on the Progress page of Alexa's site is the New Horizons probe, which was launched with a view to studying Pluto.

Pluto, formerly recognised as a planet, was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006. Put another way, it was previously suffering from mistaken identity. Arguments about the classification of Pluto had raged on for years before this with threats of reclassification often being called Much Ado About Nothing -- example:

http://www.lpi.usra.edu/publications/newsletters/lpib/lpib86/nspace86.pdf

So if we take Pluto as one possible category, I think it would be fair to put the following words under it:

reclassified
mistaken identity
Much Ado About Nothing
scientific

Those are the only obvious ones to me at the moment so maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree, but the link to the image on the Progress page makes me think this must be relevant. What do you think?

ETA: Maybe press and publishing could also fit:

awesome!!

just got my email from Daphne:

That's great, I think you've solved it. There's more than those words there, in that article alone the following words pop up:

Thanks -- clearly I didn't read the page thoroughly enough in the excitement of my initial 'a-ha!' moment! I emailed Daphne with my initial thoughts about Pluto and she has confirmed that we're "onto something".

Upon further research I think Uranus (or possibly specifically its moons) are going to be a second category for us, continuing the space theme. Uranus' moons are all named after characters in plays and poems (mostly Shakespeare). Indeed the moon 'Margaret', discovered in 2003, is named after a maid in Much Ado About Nothing, while 'Belinda', 'Ariel' and 'Umbriel' are named after characters in Alexander Pope's The Rape of the Lock. More info here:

Onwards and upwards!

I got my email back from Daphne, and she just gave me 'folders' again so it may be that that's the last of it. Or are the words different according to what topic group you're in? (I'm film.)

I am film, too, and my hint was "part of a whole". So this may be it.

I'm thinking Jupiter could be the third category for our word list. This is based purely on the fact that New Horizons gained a 'gravity assist' from Jupiter during its mission and because the word 'largest' is on our list. I'm not really sure which other words would fit, though.

ETA: 'Factory' would also work with Jupiter:

Remember that Starbucks in Cupertino?

They reported that there were actually two Starbucks in the area, one inside a Target (a department store) and one at the Stevens Creek Blvd strip mall with an actual storefront.

Well, someone drove a car thru it today.

About to leave for work, got a response: my clue is "subdomain"

I am a vampire researcher, for the record.

Interesting -- I've tried loads of potential new URLs but not new subdomains. I'll try a few options tonight.

Incidentally, I sent a word list guess over to Daphne based on the categories Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus on Friday morning (UK time) but haven't heard anything back just yet.
