Email update:

Dear Kel,

You ask about clues. I will tell you this: we have found nothing. I am left with looking into mundane little things which may or may not be clues.

For example, Kiara had this written on an index card and taped above her desk in the common work area:

"We shall now seek that which we shall not find."

As for what we call "the cockpit," only Greta Evans has access. Since I've been put informally in charge, I've asked her for access, to which she replied, "absolutely not." I've notified command that she has basically check out and should be relieved of duty, but haven't heard anything back yet.

I've thought about breaking in, but the entryway is incomprehensible. There's no visible entryway, no handle, no knob, no button. No place to insert anything like a key or a card. No visible lock or panel or any way to access it. Not even a seam indicating a separation between the wall and the door.

What IS there:

1. a set of footprints painted on the floor for placing your feet
3. a large steel cage mounted on the ceiling and centered above the footprints
2. four buttons with the following numbers on them: 8, 13, 21, 34

I'm not yet brave enough to try pushing the buttons.

Stand under the cage and press the buttons in what order.....

My first thought would be 8-13-21-13-21-34 but I wouldn't bet the cage on it.

Kiara's note: "We shall now seek that which we shall not find." is from Thomas Malory's book, Le Morte d' Arthur. It refers to what Ector and Launcelot said to each other in Ector's dream when he was with Gawain to find the Holy Grail.

You ask a lot of interesting questions. The thing about the Holy Grail rings a bell and I can't remember why. I'll have to go back through my journals and see.

And as for the hole 22, I have no idea. The whole sentence reads: We need to patch the hole 22. I don't know if that means that she is referring to hole #22, or that we need to patch the hole, and the 22 is something else, like an amount or a date. And of course, patching the hole itself is meaningless, unless she is referring to membrane, which wouldn't make sense since it's not really a hole you can patch.
