I'm debating on whether to guess a username and password as well. On one hand, THAC wouldn't make us go COMPLETELY insane over a code. They'd likely give us a hint.

On the other hand...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
*Flashbacks to the codes in Null and the Season 3 credits* Bang Head

Way to prove me wrong Embarassed
Joking, but now to get to business.

EDIT: I can't find anything in the site's code. This seems fairly innocent right now. I'm gonna email dscott about this.

PRODUCTION BLOG

Blog #1:
Hi everyone, I figured I should make a blog section on here so everyone can get updates on the production process. I'm working on finding a "coder" for this site to make it look really good, because I won't have the time to put into it once production starts.

But let's get to it! Today I finished the first draft of Marble Hornets. In case you couldn't tell I finally decided on the name. It was very difficult for me because it needed to be something thematically significant to the plot, but the plot has so many significant moments and points to choose from. I felt bad having to throw out all the other titles I had in mind. Maybe I can use them for all of the great projects that come after this one!

That's all I have for right now!

Blog #2:
I was finally able to reserve a room in the film school's building to do the first casting call of Marble Hornets. I'm so excited to hear the script finally spoken aloud! I did a few read throughs on my own, of course, but that's not quite the same as hearing the words from someone who thinks they can play one of the many varied characters I have for them.

Giving my characters over to someone else feels strange. I know that in the audition period I'm not quite giving them the characters, more like a brief rental before they're returned to me. But I still feel like I'm giving away a part of me. I wrote this script over so many years that I feel like these characters can't belong to anyone but me.

That's probably just me being overly analytical again. I do that a lot. Anyway, if you're reading this and are interested in auditioning, come on down! Here's a link to the flyer I made and hung all around campus. Feel free to print it out too and spread the word!

"I feel like these characters can't belong to anyone but me." Creepy, given what occurs after.

"just me being over analytical again. I do that a lot." Insight into Alex's mind is more than fascinating.

Bringing up the auditions directly references Entry #84, theoretically prior to first contact. The flyer is a simple PDF file, 1 page flyer.

Now that the username and password are revealed, should we email it to D. Scott?

I don't know what to make of this. More MH related stuff? Someone on the THAC-Forums pointed out that the date of the audition is the 22th of may, maybe some big will be released on that day?

Other than that, are we supposed to look back into the entry with Brians tape? Are we supposed to look back into entry 16? (room number)? ???

Heh, so it turns out the reason nobody turned up to the first set of auditions except Brian was that Alex goofed and forgot to make the production blog public.

Oh, and one more thing, Adobe Acrobat is pretty convinced there's no hidden information in that flyer. (In fact, the metadata has been scrubbed clean - there isn't even information on file creation and modification.)

The fact someone cracked the password makes me feel less bad about scanning the site with nmap last night

Old school, manual brute force. Makes me feel like a kid again.

And yeah, I have already emailed dscott with the credentials. Was the first thing I did after gloating.

password and username aren't working for me, odd.

Just gonna come out and say that this "coder" Alex was looking for was likely DScott, so he was likely connected to the crew and maybe have suffered some Oppy-sickness

EDIT: scratch that, it's working now

Friday the 22nd

If you look at the flier from the production blog you can see it says the auditions will be held Friday the 22nd. Friday the 22nd is in three weeks. Coincidence?

Right, good ol' manual brute force password cracking. Really brings you back. If I'd ever guessed it would be something so simple when Troy was involved, I might have started guessing Rocky and Amy related passwords trying to get in. Props to whoever snapped the lock, once again.

I hope we get something sooner than 3 weeks. I think the general interest of the community is already waning, despite this minor ARG content. The boys must know by now, you gotta time your Hype very well, because over Time, no one cares.

Hype/Time=0... very quickly.

The last time 22/05 was a Friday was 2009. Now that doesn't work for the auditions as we know Alex was making it in 2006. However it does work as Marble Hornets as the web series started in 2009

Though Friday the 22nd this month could still have significance, it's worth noting that the flyer doesn't say May, so Friday the 22nd could have been in September of 2006. I'm wondering if the double dagger symbols (‡) mean anything.
