EMail from Melody 04/20

Sent an EMail to Melody earlier thanking her for dropping that hint earlier today. Got this from her while I was at work:

Quote:
Great. Now, can you do me a very big favor? Please??

I think one of the people in our research group has a virus. It really has my Uncle Richard very mad. He is threatening to slap a Denial of Service Lawsuit on the person with the infected computer. I really don't want to see that happen to anyone, do you?

If you see any of our friends, would you please ask them to run an on line virus scan if they don't have an anti-virus program running already? If they do have an anti-virus program remind then they need to get the latest updates. Thanks. My Uncle was very nice in helping me set up my computer, it is running off his line, so I really don't want to pay him back by messing up his computer too.

Thanks,
Melody

Naturally, there's a META discussion about this here, but it's cool to see this handled ICly as well, so I thusly replied:
Quote:
I'll definitely get the word out to whoever I can, though I suspect that most of this group knows about this and have already taken steps. Myself, I've got constant virus protection running on my machine, and domost of my EMail activity through Hotmail, so with luck, Microsoft is on top of that. (You hear that, Mr. Gates?? Wink

Here's to hoping we can nip this in the bud. Last thing we need is some "scr1pt k1dd13" punkass (forgive my lingo) screwing things up for all of us.
