Perhaps a missed quote

Hey all, I kind of stumbled across this pretty late into the game, I hope it's alright if I join. Wink

I'm pretty new to ARGs in general, although I've known about them for a while. I've also been lurking the forums for a while, but this looked interesting enough to prompt my first post.

I've gotten myself up to speed reading through everything, and...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It seems that a quote at the "bottom" of /almustafa was missed:

"...you shall bless darkness as you would light..."

I did a bit of quick Google-Fu and came up with an excerpt from Prophet by Kahlil Gibran. I can't remember whether this book/author has been mentioned yet, but it seems sort of relelvant.

Keep up the good work, guys.

Lucy has kindly addressed this on the page now:

Lucy wrote:
There is NO further point to this page, bar reading the scholar and the prophe's [sic] discussion.
Save your time here. Read. Learn. Listen.
Not all words are puzzles, some are just words and some are words that are to be kept for a long time within yourselves.

By the way, Cervantes died on April 22, so Lucy should be withdrawing from the other pages today. We'd better hurry up and find Callum's sweet name for her.

Is she also withdrawing from /almustafa? I thought that was going to be the last active page until she links us to the final WoT, the one for her sweet name. If that's not the case, then yeah, we really don't have a lot of time... Also, I'm relieved that /scholar isn't active because I hadn't a clue what to do with it. Although she succeeded in making me read The Prophet Smile

I think my best idea is to ask for the meaning of the name. Even if it's not a common name, I would think it would still have some dictionary definition.

Welcome! Don't worry, I came in late also. We did know about The Prophet, but soon all of the different WoT won't be active.

In other news, Callum has been awfully quiet....

Ah, so that's the book the ywot worlds like /scholar came from. Sorry, it's a bit much to keep track of at once. I am aware that most of the worlds will become inactive, but t may be a good idea to keep them in mind in case we miss something.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I also think Lucy's sweet name is Kitty, as /yttik has some links to relevant stuff (including a link to an explanation of the Sun card, and what looks to be even more ciphers). However, I can't get the bitly links there to work. I'll see what I can do with the ciphers when I have more time.

Welcome selenaut Smile

I think the meaning behind her name is a fantastic question!!

I think our PM was busy yesterday with consolidating stuff into 1 main page we will be working with, once we find it LOL

/yttik is interesting. The wrd.cm link goes to Wired Magazine

The bitly goes to an article from wired

we also have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suryaprabha and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surya and http://learntarot.com/maj19.htm and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun linked to from there as well as some scripture http://quran.com/39/2-8 and http://www.chabad.org/library/bible_cdo/aid/16462

Definitely a Sun theme here. I left a little note to see if Lucy visits there Smile

Yeah, this is why I wasn't sure if it belonged to Lucy or not. But the strong solar theme is certainly compelling. Good thinking leaving a note there, because I certainly don't want to lead everyone down the wrong rabbit hole Smile

I've left the second question on /almustafa: What is the meaning/definition of the name?

If we are right about /yttik, it should at least help confirm so.

Re: /yttik

RedHatty, were those scripture links from the bitly links that I couldn't get to work, or are those somehow from the ciphered vertical text? I assume they're the bitly links, but they won't work for me.

Yes, instead of using bitly.com, I switched to the newer standard for bitly, bit.ly and added the alphanumeric page indicator - when it went to a wired article about how we know the earth circles the sun, well.... Had to be on the right track Smile

Re: Callum Felderi
Re: /yttik

Oh, duh. Those vertical text bit's aren't even ciphered. I'm silly sometimes.

I also googled Ri Gong Ri Guong Pu Sa, and it's the chinese name for Suryaprabha.

On a whim, I tried yourworldoftext.com/suryaprabha. No dice.

EDIT: So I just counted, and we do indeed have 25 YWOT links, not including /yttik:
/lucylime
/klondike
/midnight
/martinblackwood
/glueboy
/tulip
/polly
/i2i
/lucina
/almustafa
/scholar
/elder
/hermit
/astronomer
/mother
/richman
/innkeeper
/ploughman
/merchant
/judge
/teacher
/lawyer
/youth
/orator
/priestess

Callum hasn't responed to the Prophet-related worlds /priestess, /youth, or /hermit. Don't know if that's helpful.

Wow, that was a long edit.

ANOTHER EDIT: Maybe these "random letters" aren't random at all.

There's a missing K in LOOK in /lucylime, a D in /lucina, and an M in another one, but I can't remember which.

So /lucylime has been changed, some things are still there, most aren't

Kitty was one that jumped out at me. Going to http://www.yourworldoftext.com/yttik brings up...interesting results associated with the sun. I can't tell if it's meant to belong to us or not.

Alas, Lucy won't be answering your question on /almustafa. Before she disappeared, however, she left a couple of clues that make it clear that your "whim" was entirely correct. Her nickname is indeed from a song: "Speak in Tongues" from the Placebo album "Battle for the Sun." Brian Molko is one of the songwriters, and the first two lines are: "Kitty came back home from on the island / But kitty came on home without a name"... Excellent insight!

(Also, she answered RedHatty's note on /yttik. Mr. Green )

Yay! I just saw. Wish I had known I was suppose to leave a note, though. Still learning all the ropes of this Laughing

Thank you, that was very sweet of you!! But like you mentioned before, I shared the info with everyone so we could all share in the discussion. It's more fun to play (fair) together Smile

Also, I had written a question on /klondike a while ago before Lucy disappeared, but I think she only just now saw it. I asked her who she was wary of Callum hiring, and she responded "ANY OF YOU." So I think my suspicions might be right: we're going to have to choose between the two. Hmm...decisions, decisions...

ETA:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Spoilers probably aren't necessary, but the new and final WoT is /~lucylime, which she has linked to from /yttik. Everyone be sure to follow Lucy's instructions on writing so we know who is who.

As a note you are missing:
http://www.yourworldoftext.com/almitra

Likely Tulip, which just points to I2I in the same way that Jane just points to Polly, is not considered one of the 25.

ETA: I did on last check of all the pages and found some things of note...

The pages have been cleaned up, Jane's note is gone, generically on all many of the pages our names have been removed.

If you scroll down on /lucylime there is some interesting stuff.
/klondike is missing some words now...? Parts of the questions are gone.
/lucina has some gibberish letters on it.
/astronomer, she removed my answer about "The Whole of The Sky" but Red Hatty's name is still associated with her response
/almitra seems to be left alone

One some of the 16, like priestess, their seem to be missing words but i can't tell you what is missing of if it's meaningful.

Just random thoughts.
