In the mean time, I'm considering sending Zarafa a message to make a deal.....as part of Lucy's Membership, we could be of some worth to the Agency. Perhaps this is a good time to infiltrate as double agents by using the lore of leading them to the weakened Lucy (who I suspect they want more than Callum)? Think it's worth a shot?

I'm always in favor of infiltrating, great idea, [sic]! (but it sounds like you want us to infiltrate as a group? Since truth is important for Lucy, we might lose her altogether if she discovers even a hint of deception on our part, so maybe only one person or, since we are 4, we could use the buddy system and work in pairs that way 2 can ask the same question and see if we get the same/different answer.)

Thanks! Oh, we don't all have to infiltrate (unless we all really wanted to). I was more thinking out loud. Ideally, I would tell Lucy about the plan, but since now our only means of contact is via her insecure email (is she still responding on /~lucylime?) I don't think that's an option. Lucy wanted us to take a leap of faith for her, so I guess it'll have to be her turn to trust us Wink I do like your buddy system idea, though!

K, cool, i didn't want to actually but am very happy to support your attempt to do so. I can't wait to hear what you find out!
Something that may be of help to you: I asked Z whether he was related to Callum (thinking perhaps the blood oath might be something as simple as blood relationship due to all the Romeo and Juliet references) and his reply was:
Quote:
Me personally, no. No family members are allowed to work together in the same cell for safety and security reasons.
It also works in a hierarchical manner so I guess you'll have to be rather creative about your research assistant duties.

Also, there was a puzzle posted by Nigma today in case anyone missed it. I have no idea what it says.

I had a thought...
Queens, cells...

Z's answer to Pia about family members working in the same cell, the earlier reference to "flutter by", and Lucy talking about the "other Queen" makes me think we should be thinking about bees in addition to butterflies.

Very interesting thoughts. With Saturday fast approaching, what are the general feelings on how I should treat Mr Callum? Should we take the moth to the flame, as it were, or return him to a place from whence he came?

Any ideas as to how I should communicate during the event to you all? I guess on here is the most "secure" option.

Saturday & new puzzle
Roadmap?

I think you should help him, like we discussed earlier. The new puzzle might be a guide of sorts. I have solved the coded crossword portion, but we need to put our heads together to sort out the rest.

"flw my QR Codes sun path"

Looks like I'll need to make sure my QR reader is working. Wink

EDIT - Looking at a map of the area, and lots of the answers in the wordsearch relate to streetnames in the area.

Could it be some form of directions?

Yes! I do think you've got it Pictishwitch! I've asked Z if any in the cells are female (including Callum). [sic], be careful!

And excellent work on figuring out the puzzle!! (I must confess my attempts last night were pretty pathetic)

Dagada, I did find a sculpture of a bunch of birds in Milton Keynes but it's on Caldecotte Lake drive http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM8HKD_Wings_of_Enterprise_Caldecotte_Lake_Drive_Caldecotte_Milton_Keynes_Buckinghamshire_UK

Re: Saturday & new puzzle
Re: Roadmap?

I haven't reached out to Zarafa yet because I was working on (and failing) the crossword puzzle. Thanks for the solve, Pictishwitch! But with all the new speculation on how the Agency works, I rather do so with as much information as possible. And I think Saturday is the best opportunity to find out more.

I'm thinking out load again, but Dagada, maybe some objectives of the meeting could be: 1) how can we break the blood oath? 2) what is the nature of the Agency? are we right about the bee hive, and if so, who is the Queen? and 3) how best we can infiltrate the Agency (if necessary).

Concerning the crossword, I do believe it is a map, as the street names going across and down seem to correspond to this map of Milton Keynes. But since I'm not familiar with Milton Keynes, it's hard to make sense of it all. Here's what I got so far:

Nigma said we should start at the X, which is conveniently next to the word STATION. I think he means MKC station, so Dagada should start his journey there. Now I'm not sure if he's meant to go any farther than that, since the crossword map extends to Marlborough Gate, which looks to be across town. Nigma also said "where's the fun if you don't get to watch others looking for clues while you already are there..." Not sure if that means Dagada should stay at the station and the rest of the map is just for show to throw off the Agency? The "Flw (follow) my qr code sun path" may mean that Dagada will be provided directions via qr code once he arrives at the station.

Some other things that jump out at me:

1. Zetetics I think is in reference to astronomical theory that the Earth is flat with hell below and heaven above. Article here.

2. Lucific fire reflect secrets (?). That can't be good.

3. Midsummer fable makes me think of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream. But there's also a Midsummer Blvd in Milton Keynes.

4. Ushas is the Hindu goddess of dawn.

5. Acorn Crown Oath (????)

6. Alexander Graham Bell idea - The phone, but I'm not sure if he means that we should communicate with Dagada by phone during the meeting?

7. There's also mention of Centre Time, but Idk what time.

Re: Saturday & new puzzle
More ideas

I have attached a screenshot of the area of Milton Keynes bound by the streets mentioned in the puzzle. I have placed lines denoting the streets, and a little rectangle indicating the "Acorn Family Law" building (just in case that's what the puzzle meant).

I agree that Dagada should begin at the station. I'm thinking he should then head down Midsummer Blvd. to MK Centre, where there are arcades named after some of the streets in the puzzle also (as well as a giant oak tree - maybe he's supposed to photograph an acorn there?). The Centre also has a Crown walk, which may or may not mean anything. There is also a big hanging sun sculpture on the main drag. After that, I think he should head to the MK Theatre, which is running a show called "Watson" (in the puzzle).

Sigyn (in the puzzle) was the wife of Loki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sigyn. Maybe Dagada should be on the lookout for something that portrays that mythology - or maybe include an image of Loki along with his dove.

Trover (puzzle, the double 'r' should be 'er'; it was very late in the evening for me) is a website that has photos of any specific place you type into it. I think that's worth a look.

More Saturday thoughts
Maps and relevant art

Please forgive me for the double post, but I will be camping tomorrow, and most likely unable to get online, so I want to help Dagada as much as I can before I go.

Milton Keynes has an Arts Walk pamphlet that includes the streets in the puzzle: http://www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/assets/attach/16836/2514MK%20Arts%20Guide%202012%20FINAL.pdf
One of the artworks is under the giant oak tree - it's a brass acorn with oak leaves.
There is also a piece of artwork that is called "The Meeting" in the shopping centre nearby. It features a man & a woman looking at a cup. Might be worth a look.
There is also a place called Xscape close by. Since Callum was X8 on Facebook, maybe that's a clue.

This website also has a walking tour of the area that might be useful: http://www.theaa.com/walks/a-tour-of-milton-keynes-city-of-the-future-420078

I haven't been in contact with anyone for months, but just got a pm from Callum's fb account:

Hi Karen - just a quick question - is anyone meeting with Callum tomorrow? I'm Zafara, a concerned work colleague who is looking out for his best interests...
oh hi there! let me check with my friends who might know him! I don't think I've met you before?
are you the person meeting him?
No - I was wondering if any of you or your friends are meeting him later today [it is now Saturday in the UK]...
i can ask
and then this: Is everything ok with you? Are you concerned with the meeting?
I just want to make sure that Callum is looked after - he is very vulnerable at the moment and, as he has recently left our offices with a bit more work than normal, well, we have to look after one another don't we?
I'm always concerned about looking after people...brb
Ok...
Sorry - fire alarm has just gone off - need to leave the building - may be able to contact later - bye.
Ok be safe!
Any idea why it went off??
i'm signing off here for now.....email or pm me ( I have a 7 year old) LETMEHELP
Chat conversation end

ideas?
