Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hi all - sorry for the long delay - just been called back into work - we've all been on assignment - some of us been to nice places - I get... Milton Keynes. Yay. half a mile from home. 2 miles from the office. Woot....
In all seriousness though, one or two of you let me know about a situation - all dealt with -She's fine - thanks.
Regarding applications - please make sure you've read all the info, and sent the form and cover letter back to HR - they'll be checking and reading applications tomorrow though I imagine there's a few extra days due to the assignments of all staff [bar the admin team].
Sorry if you've been waiting for any info - Kane will get that out to you asap. If you're in the UK, hope you had a good Bank Holiday -been raining hard here. Sad

Coincidence?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Callum comments on the weather in Milton Keynes, where he's located. He says that over the past few days, he's been on assignment a few miles from home. Notably, Bletchley is very close to MK. It's best known for Bletchley Park, the headquarters of Britain's World War II codebreaking organisation, now home to The National Museum of Computing. Coincidence?

Hmmmm.....

Also, apologies

Apologies if this is only news to me... I just joined this thread, and while I read some of the entries, I didn't go through all 26 pages worth.

I submit a contact form earlier on the 88 website about the first aider response before Callum had updated his facebook. Callum responded to me through his email account.

Quote:
Thanks for the message. She is fine. She'd just fallen asleep.
Might I enquire who you are though and how you'd got the first aid message request?

Thank you for your concern though.
Dove.

Is there any significance to his gmail image? It's an X with the subscript 8.

No problem Nep2ne. If you have any questions, I'll try to fill you in as best I can Smile

The gmail image, macrogreyhatter, is Callum's original fb profile pic which was deleted (I think soon after he recovered from his psychotic episode). I don't think we understand the significance of it yet. Long ago I asked if it was Oxygen because Callum kept putting two periods under the pic (and I thought he might be saying look in the second period of the periodic table and if you look in the second period, 8 is the atomic number of Oxygen) but he didn't say yes or no and I dimly recall now that the periods he kept putting may have had to do with something else. Maybe Callum is getting sick again so that is why the photo has resurfaced, idk.

Did you ask about Lucy in your email? Is that who Callum is saying had "just fallen asleep"?

X8

Could it be a scrabble tile? The x is worth 8 in the English version of the game. Too obvious?

Actually you're absolutely right Nep2ne!! There was something about scrabble tiles on a world of text page but I can't find it now. I'll keep looking tomorrow and post the link when I do.

I believe the inquiry was regarding Ormsby/Ormsbury's assistant, whose replies morphed into the same key (e) repeated indefinitely.

...although it would certainly be interesting if the assistant were a brainwashed or otherwise controlled Lucy, given that we know she used to work for 88 and that she has since "lost" to the company due to our inaction. I doubt it, though, since it seems evident that Lucy was not -- at least when we knew her -- a physical human being, and from what Callum has said I think we can assume that the assistant is.

It was an early puzzle Lucy had posed to us: give her Callum's Scrabble value. I think I gave her the value of the word DOVE played on the star (a double-word square). I believe it's gone now, though, like most of Lucy's text.

It was Ormsby's assistant I was inquiring about. I wasn't sure whether or not to bring up Lucy now that everything has sort of settled. I haven't really gotten any indication of who Ormsby's assistant is though so perhaps the theory that Lucy = the assistant could be correct. I know on the 88 website it seems like Ormsby was taken by Lucy and her drawings of the company logo.

Has anyone figure out the scutum password yet? I swear I've tried like 100 things in there. Otherwise it's just waiting for application answers to come back, correct?

I FB messaged Callum to ask the following:

Hello Callum, I recently submitted my assessments for the positions of Data Analyst and Information Gatherer. I understand that most 88 staff are currently out of the office... will this affect the timeline for candidate selection? Are you able to share more information about their whereabouts?

Here's the response:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hi - just got back into the office this mornig - I know everyone's back - or will be - this morning - not my province I'm afraid, though Kane's a reasonable sort - expect something from him when he's had his coffee!

Dear Marco
My apologies for the poor communication you may have experienced regarding your recent application for a position here at 88. This is entirely due to my own time management and an unexpected requirement which took most of the staff away from the office for a short while.
However, please be assured that normal service has been resumed and we are undertaking to process the applications as quickly as possible. Our intern has hopefully responded to you with the test[s] you require for the position you have applied for. Should this not be the case, or should there be any questions though, please do not hesitate to respond.
Also note, that, due to this delay in our responding to you, the deadline for final applications/assessments has been extended to 8th September.
Thank you for your understanding,
Kane S Talbot.

I got one of these today, too. Trying to get some people together to have an email chain where we work on it. PM me if you are interested - I have a google sheet I can share.

Why is that, Shad0? I assumed she was.
