This is the first I've seen of this, and pretty bizarre stuff to show up on her site, since there has been no mention (that I've seen) of the militia group since her report in Amboy Monthly (http://www.amboymonthly.com/20040302.htm), in her blog or in her investigations in Eugene, or emails. Curiouser and curiouser...

Maybe the links are for research. She did say in one of her posts that she tracked down Mr. Tidwell, of the Restorers and that she is in the process of writing about it for Amboy Monthly. Maybe she was asking his opinions on Ruby Ridge. Hers should make for an interesting article.

those links must relate to the save004.jpg which is in the pictures section of her group site. maybe someone else can attach it here, I wasn't able to do so and I don't have the patience right now to sort it out.
I don't know when it was posted, it just shows todays date. And if this is here somewhere else, I'm sorry. I looked for it.

In her interview notes, Melody says that Tidwell talks about having someone "watching your 6". If this is the correct meaning, it seems to be referring to pilots' fighting team tactics. A Google search brought up http://home.att.net/~trosst/RedBarons/Training/Fighter/bait.html

back I would also say its just as simple as "watching your back" - 6 o'clock being the combat direction for 'behind you'. Too much girl-watching taught me that I suppose.
This, along with the reference to the washroom as 'the head' tells me Thad's got more than a little interest in the military lingo...

Yeah, watch your 6 = mind what's behind you.
Crash course on Randy Weaver:
-he was a member of a white separatist (as opposed to supremacist) group
-the feds entrapped him into buying a shotgun which was 0.25" too short according to law
-the feds used the gun purchase to lean on Weaver to tattle on suspected misdeeds of other members of the separatist group
-Weaver balked and told the people in the group the feds were after them
-the FBI surveilled Weaver's residence for a long time, eventually moved in to arrest him
-Weaver's dogs saw the agents move in, chased the agents, one dog was shot and killed, as was Weaver's 14 year old son
-a siege ensued in which the feds also shot and killed Weaver's wife as she was holding their baby
-one year later, the Branch Davidian disaster occurred.
There's an excellent write-up at The Crime Library that is very much worth reading if you have the time. Weaver is a highly-sought speaker for conventions, discussing dangerous government.

Military service issues -
Guess he saw action in the first Gulf War.
15 years in and leaves in 2001? How was he discharged? If less than 20 years it is not retirement. If separated (his current enlistment was up and he didn't re-enlist) after 15 years, that is unheard of (only 5 more years for retirement benefits). If separated in 2001, and special forces, he should have been recalled (they can do that, because there are provisions for being part of the ready-reserve when you are so recently separated) and we have been under terrorist alert since 9/11/2001, not to mention the current Gulf War.
Therefor:
1) he was dishonorably discharged?
2) he separated because he became disenchanted with current US military policies?
3) he's mentally unstable and given medical discharge?

11 years ago The Branch Davidian disaster in Waco, Texas, happened 11 years ago today. Hence the reason for the article? Also the reason why the Amboy Monthly date shows 18 today? ( as mentioned elsewhere)
