O/T

Thought it was as good a place as any to pose a question.
I have seen the odd remark at Yahoo about Unfiction and the odd remark here about Yahoo, being new to this could someone give me a quick explain?

If there's some animosity between Yahoo and Unfiction and you'd rather not commit yourself to a public explanation, send me a PM.
('Cause I'm totally in the dark)

Thx,
~cem

There's no rivalry; it's just that Yahoogroups sucks. It's slow, ad-ridden, and has a crappy interface. Simple as that.

I'm not aware of any animosity between the forums, but then I don't read much of what is written at the noah boddy yahoo group. I scan through the headings and look for stuff that might be of interest. I don't like the yahoo format, but have nothing against the people who want to play their ARGs there. I notice a lot of people who post there also post here.

I don't see any competition between the forums either. But I could be wrong. I'm hoping that there is a fair exchange of information between the two forums. I think the big difference between the two dynamics is that the Noah Boddy yahoo group has Noah Boddy as it's reason for being. While Unforum is about ARGs in general. We play lots of games over here, and Noah Boddy just happens to be one of them.

Frankly, there's a little bit of alpha-dog behavior there, and that I could do without. Otherwise, I'm in contact with some members of both groups. Why draw artifical boundaries? I agree about the better board interface, but I don't think that simply being on Yahoo means you're riding the short bus, so to speak.

Not by any stretch of the imagination. There are very smart and observant and dedicated people on the Noah Boddy board. I'm very impressed by how closely they read the livejournal info and am grateful for their input.
