Alternatives to the Intellim Client

Summary: If you are having trouble with Intellim under win98, try using Miranda instead.
If you are using another operating system, try here.

Being fed up with the Intellim client being so unreliable, and frequently crashing my otherwise stable win98 computer, I have been looking at other options. I tried lots of programs, but here are the highlights:
Thanks to Bri who figured out to use intellim.com as the server and 5222 as the port.

The official client from Jabber.com is just the Intellim client without the ads. Plus it seems non-trivial to change the server it connects to. I see no real advantage. (it crashed my machine just like the Intellim cilent)

JabberWana (1.1mb) http://jabberwana.chatwana.net/
This one is nice, and easy to use. It even lets you search the Intellim user directory. However, you can not save or cut-and-paste chat messages.

Miranda (771kb) http://miranda-im.org/
This is my current pick. It does everything apart from search the user directory. I suggest getting the history++ plugin to go with it to make saving old messages easier.

Thank you everyone for your help. The two suggested by Lysithea didn't work either. I got in, but couldn't find Marcus, or anyone else from Ideltech for that matter. So I went back to Intellim and reregistered using a different password. And it worked. Finally.

Thanks again for everyone's help. Very Happy
