Welcome to Penumbra (anewsociety.com)

I searched quite a bit for this but didn't see anything; sorry if I totally overlooked it.

Any ideas on Welcome to Penubra? It looks really interesting so far and seems like it should be launching here soon and it has a tie to the Orlando area. I also found this site where someone got some mail about it recently. Looks interesting and polished so I'm pretty curious.

Looks like it's got some money and time put into it. Hoping I remember to check back on the 15th.

But I will also say, I don't think this is an ARG. Just some viral marketing. For what? A piece of interactive theater. Why? The only person I've seen online so far who's received a physical invitation is The Theme Park University, who is a HUGE fan of interactive theater and posts almost exclusively about it at this point. Just my thoughts.

Reminds me a lot of Jeff Hull's Jejune Institute - interestingly Sara Thatcher one of the puppet masters for that last worked on the big Tommorowland/Disney Land arg.

It also reminds me of Disney's original plans for Disney World/Epcot - as a Tommorowland-esque (the movie version anyways) utopia.

Fingers crossed it's something that cool!

EDIT as of February 19th:

Decided to check up on this & update this post and it is indeed interactive theatre. It seems to be run by the same people that Theme Park University Blogger has reviewed (incredibly poorly) before. I bet he was not impressed.

Too bad. A combo of Bioshock, Disney and Jejune could have been real cool.

Oh well.
