I've been super stoked on new content from EMH, until I decided to come back to this forum to see how other people felt about it. Interested to see how the rest of EMH plays out and to see if anyone changes their tune.

But I dunno, I'll probably just lurk every once in a while and wonder why I even waste the time. Like usual.

I take the amount of negativity regarding EMH as being significant of people's interest in the series still, after five years. If none of these guys cared anymore, really, they wouldn't bother with it at all.

Accurate.

I think it's that people want to see the series either give them some (admittedly much-needed by now, if it's final act we've been told it is) closure, or come back in force. And it's understandable people who put enough effort into it to follow the series at all would want that, because like Nick Nocturne said in Part 6 of his EMH Explained series, it hit Donnie Darko levels of complicated after a certain point.

It took effort to follow everything, keep it all straight, and keep focused. People don't like effort like that ever going to waste, and the story was legitimately compelling when you followed it enough past a couple of certain points.

All of that said, I don't think it's over, but as a newcomer who's devoured everything up to this point, I'd like the EMH crew to stop 'blue-balling' the fanbase (intentionally or otherwise) and try to proceed for better or worse.

In my case it's not so much that I have persistent, ongoing interest, so much as every so often I remember it exists and check in on it to see what's happened and am gobsmacked at how little has happened since my last burst of interest. That simple astonishment is enough to keep me engaged for a bit before I drift away again, and the cycle continues like that.

Crossovers should be avoided like the fucking plague if they are not intended to happen when you are doing your writing. (I.E: In TT Slenderman seems to be this powerful being wich has a lot of people working for him, but in EMH Slenderman is HABIT's bitch basicly) Back to EMH for now...

I just wonder how they are going to defeat this supposed god that has been in control of everything since episode one without pulling some extreme Deus Ex Machina OR having the roles reversed and basicly portray the EMH crew as the bad guys all along while HABIT is preventing them from accomplish whatever task they need to complete

I'm fairly certain that Slendy isn't HABIT's bitch. They're involved in a power struggle. That by itself is enough evidence to prove that HABIT can be stopped.

Wait...maybe that's how they destroy HABIT: using Slendy's powers...or something...

Granted, that's a little weird in the TT context, since the Slenderman in that series is a lot more villainous....

I think of it more like grey morality. One wants chaos, destruction, and suffering, the other wants total control, order, and death. They're two forces of nature. One has many faces and the other has a blank face.

It's just the matter of which you would want more; a prolonged yet horrible life or a submissive and meaningless death?

Jeff did once say on tumblr that he believes being killed by HABIT would be worse than by Slenderman, as Slenderman would make it quick while HABIT would drag it out. Which kinda defeats the whole purpose of Slenderman being scary because he slowly makes people paranoid until they're driven to insanity and death.

As for it being a power struggle, that's true yes. But it's been a one-sided power struggle for a long time now and it really needs to go in a different direction. HABIT's been doing things to defy Slenderman or throw things off course, Slenderman's done nothing. They definitely seem a lot more taken with this HABIT character they're created than Slenderman to the point they barely seem to give Slenderman a thought. He might as well not be in it, he's basically just there to draw people into watching... unless he actually does end up doing something relevant.

But HABIT has been doing what he wants the whole time, and many times we've seen how he "outpowers" Slenderman. Thanks to the crossover (TT's "Severance") we now learn that he can cut people off Slenderman's strings.

Slenderman is just there to revive people and keeping them from dying apparently. I'm pretty sure he is the one responsible for the iteration phenomenom

Slender Man seems to be focused on Noah at the moment. It looks like both in-game and OOG, they're trying to advance both storylines using their respective entities. If they planned this from the start, I can see a climax to these crossovers culminating in HABIT finally being toggled off of god mode and Slendy bringing his focus back to the Hybrids for the endgame, just so it doesn't create discrepancies between EMH and TT. Wishful thinking, though.

Out of curiosity, I decided to count how many videos (on the main channel) have been put out by year.

2010: 33
2011: 15
2012: 11
2013: 7
2014: 5
2015: 4
Total: 75
Average: 12.5

Edit: there was a miscount. All fixed

What happen in 2014 that videos dropped so much?

There were actually only 7 in 2013.

At a guess: key personnel graduated and moved away?
