I am still lurking Geek butttttt.. I have to say it could be done so easily, adding new data to the existing sites doing a /new info writeup. Simply stating new management Vanessa and relaunching the changes would seemingly still fit in the universe wouldn't it?

It would be someone picking up the reigns that are already there and just dabbling in the "blood relative" story a bit.

It would make so much happy!.. for reasonably low cost and effort, wouldn't it? :soapbox:

Anywhooooo main contact is removed what about.. Vanessagwon@, vgwon@, vangwon, gwonv@

P.s if your going to name something cloverfield FUCKing use the universe.. Don't play with our emotions dammit..

The 4 I tried were vanessagwon, gwonvanessa, gwonv & vanessag. Gmail immediately responded with failed permanently & recipient not found on Tagruato.jp server.

This is certainly nothing, just a small fan project, but when googling Tagruato, I came across this weird architecture simulator build of The Tagruato HQ.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=381250358

It was made only a year ago. Interest in Cloverfield was pretty dead by that point, but production on this new movie was in full swing. Probably nothing, but now that Tagruato is back in play I wanted to document it. Just in case.

I still have this silly feeling, that there weren't an ARG planned initially. Like, "people will hw crazy after the trailer, it will be enough". In this case marketing underestimated the longing of players for an ARG.

Because we all are already contaminated with magic power of alternate realities.

So now they are perhaps in the state of being between "c'mon, we haven't enough time for this" and "OK, if we let them be disappointed, it could earn minus points in popularity of Bad Robot".

Because people are waiting. And if it's Cloverfield related and remains without any ARG, it could be contraproductive for Bad Robot coolness.

Totally agree.
The thing is: they *taught* their fanbase to do this, to dig into things, to research everything, to search for clues in every tiny insignifigant detail. They actually did hide obscure clues and meta games in the background of almost every project they've ever produced. They built this situation themselves.

If they're sitting back at The National Typewriter Company going: "Gee why can't the internet nerds just let it go?" It would be pretty ironic.

I do not want to be thrown an ARG bone because they realized their own hubris.

That's how I've felt since this started because there really ISN'T enough time, we're 6 weeks away from the premiere, and while there's a chance they can churn out a lot of content in this timespan, it's not like it'll be too interactive. They're gonna have to sacrifice the clue digging part, although realistically only hardcore fans like ourselves actually know about Tagruato and TIDOwave. I'm actually very glad there's some development or the hint of it, since it no longer feels like stabbing in the dark at PUZZLE CLUES that still haven't panned out Sad

I'm really turned off by the sense of entitlement some people are showing here..
    1. Just because the majority of big known BR stuff had an ARG doesn't mean there is an obligation on their part to do one.

    2. ARGers aren't even a majority fan base of their productions.

    3. If they opted to do something as an afterthought, it is by no means because they felt obligated and yes we should indeed be grateful for something.

Because admit it, even if there was NOTHING going on, you have had 72 pages of meta enjoyment.

Well, I agree party, an ARG is not obvious for cinema marketing and we should be grateful for the experiences we have had already. But, it's Bad Robot, and it's Cloverfield, two elements which became iconic example for great transmedial experience.

I enjoy the meta discussions here, and even if there won't be anything behind the movie, I will be glad to have new friends here. Just... Slight disappointment will remain. The expectations are very high leveled.

It will be ordinary instead of extraordinary.

Or at least been wildly entertained by a certain mod named Pixiestix...

Seriously though, ARG or no...is not gonna sway my image of BR. I'll still wind up going to see (and probably love) Cloverfield Lane and hope that the next BR movie has an ARG. JJ does love Transmedia.

True. It's great this bright mind is so active in all cultural areas! I wish he will concept another book. "S" was an insane and intense experience.

I'm just gonna clarify that my point was not that I remotely think there should be an ARG or that we as ARG/Bad Robot fans inherently deserve one or whatever.

Just that it's odd that there doesn't seem to be one here (yet - situation developing).

Especially since there purposfully dropped hints to something going on in the trailer (the NUMBERS, WHY?) kept the movies very existence a secret, and have an extensive history of doing transmedia things.

This continues to not add up and that bothers the ARGy part of my brain far more than there not being an ARG does. And I actually am quite enjoying the conversation and speculation, anyways.

Surely, there will be something, kosmopol - J.J. wouldn't 'do us like that', would he...?

Confused

We probably deserve nothing. Personally i think "if" 10CL is blood bound
- we may see things or discover things in the movie that will remember
us of the original movie and its ARG.

Even if there is no ARG "before" maybe they just changed their tactic to do
a clever marketing trick - doing it during release and after the movie.

Since the movie is probably not available through VOD soon, people may
rush into the cinema twice or more to get more clues.
Alongside this, might be a clever press deal, bringing ARG to the masses:
"See that new movie from the producer of The Force Awakens?
He brings a cool new movie with secret clues. And all the muggles are like: AhHHhhh! *waving arms*

Just my opinion.
