Good to see some of the old faces back. I came here first for Year Zero and then stuck around for Cloverfield and lurked a bit during the Slender-boom of the early 10's. This should be fun.

Also, apologies if this has already been mentioned, but perhaps all the Eiffel Towers are a reference to Les Guerriers de Mère-Terre, the activist group that established Tidowave in the first place? Could John Goodman be Le Bandit Vert? He doesn't appear to have a French accent, but I guess there was never anything explicitly stating that Le Badnit Vert was French, just that he started the group in France. And if this does take place in the bayou, there is a strong French presence down there.
And, if the message "Stay away from the farm. It's crawling with agents on Tagruato's payroll." applies, then 'they' might be the ones JG is talking about when he yells "You'll get us all killed!" at MEW near the trailers end...hopefully we'll get something new on the 18th from that 'Bad Robot'. Wink

About the books: So far, i only can see two titles visible and thats Terminal and some Tom Clancy.

Interesting findings so far, at least since yesterday with the possible number 7 on the poster and the connection of John Goodman and the french activist group.


IDEA: He is part of this group..and within already prepared everything for his familiy...building the shelter etc. Then, the day comes..the monster attacks. He is directly going into the Shelter (or days before, the activist group probably knew about the monster before it attacked NY). Could the camera shake/rumble in the trailer be the bomb that was dropped over Manhattan? (Given the hint that they're somewhere in East Marion) ?

He also seems having a pretty hard time explaining to his family why they're in the shelter now and why they can't go outside. Figure that daughter and son/friend probably were ok during the attack..but after some years - they wanna go outside.

It does not explain the expensive new iPhone, but it could explain why they have a) a shelter and b) are already inside.

It could also tell why there are lights outside coming from another house, not some Fallout story.

I just want to point out George A Romero's original Living Dead trilogy are all films that seriously date themselves, and yet all take place over the course of a small amount of time. This isn't the only example of that out there, but it is the only one my "I'm only awake because my toddler woke me on a Saturday morning" brain can think of right now.

 		Im just hoping the woman being shocked at the door isnt the end and we get to see the outside, i dont think we will see Clover, but just seeing the aftermath of some sort. I hope my worst worry wont happen and thats Goodmans character is just lying and he is the "monster" cause unless she has some type of amnesia (does that mean the other guy has aswell? or maybe he is with Goodman) after the crash, it wouldnt make sense for her to not know about clover. I just HOPE it has some link to Clover cause it feels like its nothing to do with story to some intent at all.

 		Granted, I've now read 6 different plots for the film - not a single one lists the youngsters as his kids, nor do the youngsters know each other before the shelter. In 5 of the plots, he claims he found her after a car accident and "saved her life" by bringing her to the shelter (hence the leg brace & crutch). In 2, the male youngster was his neighbor who he begrudgingly let in. Beyond that..... There aren't many similarities between the faux plots going around. Regardless, I'm fairly sure that's not a family.

Yeah i heard similar stories about tem being his kids, but the one i heard the most is that she woke up in the bunker and goodman said he saved her after she was in the crash etc etc.

 		I always get annoyed that i wasnt aware of the buzz the trailers etc of the first Clover made. I feel i missed out bigtime, i just want another film like it so i can join in lol.

 		I know that there is an ARG, most likely, but if there is, we haven't found any leads to its existence. The trailer was released, like, yesterday, so we still have a lot to find out, but I think we haven't really found what we're looking for.

 		Do you think it's possible that the 'leak script' is related? I mean, a lot seems to indicate that the movie was turned into '10 Cloverfield' after, but that doesn't mean that the original script, since it was kicking around and mildly high profile in screenplay writer world (being on the black list and open for download), wasn't somehow incorporated into some kind of ARG as they went?

I am going to break my rule just this once and read the script I found and see what I think.

 		I heard the film was under different names like "the celler" and theres another one i cant remember, maybe they were used to keep the film hidden. The script if it was different probably has just changed to whatever it is whats going on outside is now just linked to Clover, when before it was probably a different reason maybe. Thats if Goodmans character isnt lying that is.
