I would also wonder if you open in new tab/save file, if it is the static image or turns to the regular PNG?

Back in the day there were ways of decoding text by adjusting the black,white,grey pixilation effect in static images.

Assuming its a static.PNG on its own..

Well, I'm not sure how to do that. I've downloaded the picture but I can't force the static to appear (e.g, there's no layers). As best I can tell this happens when loading in the image the first time -- it doesn't seem to do this when going back to the page, when presumably the image is in my browse cache. So, the visual noise might have something to do with how the image is progressively loading. I'm not a computer graphics file guy, so this is just a guess.

But none of the other PNG images do this. If this is more than just a random glitch, it might be the case that this was simply done for new people, to draw their attention to the picture.

A few pages ago I posted a cap of me getting the static on its own page. It's also larger. It's only about 30 posts ago.

I'm using Safari as well, and haven't been able to replicate this yet. I'll clear my history, and eep trying.

These questions have been answered for well over a week ago. Dinner sign is very easily found. Blue T-Shirt is a graphic tee by Old Navy that is OPP and almost impossible to find!!!! It has The Great Outdoors image on the front. Most if not all the items that are real in any way shown in the two trailers or any coresponding web sites are showing as SOLD OUT on all existing web sites where the items may be for sale!

I agree that the license plate may not mean anything, but I'm always optimistic, lol!

Good job finding the signs and shirts! I don't read reddit, so I didn't know that they'd been found. That's awesome! Someone needs to post the Reddit stuff here, because that place is like a maze to me.

Edit: Sorry to Ednanight. I have been reading this thread constantly since it came out. I might have missed it, though! Definitely didn't mean to trout. I wonder if it was mentioned in Reddit only, though, and not on here? I'm sort of a purist and I don't like another forum to steal our glory, lol.

 		I searched through and didn't get a clear answer, really -

So, the Boldfutura.com site is addressable -- it's browsable -- but doesn't contain anything right at the moment - A link to Boldfutura.com is on the bottom of the subsidiary page at tagruato.jp, but just reloads the subsidiary page over and over rather than going to an html link.

Was boldfutura.com vultured and set up as a gamejack in the past, or did it never work? I have been checking through the original '07 ARG, and from what I'm seeing the site hasn't ever been IG or an actual website.

I know it's gauche to do a WHOIS to determine content -- but the interesting thing is that it was created in July 2007 - and was updated July of last year. It expires this year in July.

There's no indicator this site is a BR owned or ran site -- but this is new, I guess -- Sorry if this repeats information.

My theory is that the ARG was a 'maybe/maybe not' thing once they decided this would be a Cloverfield related film, and they're plugging in the content as it's completed. The level of artistic quality and design has to pass muster, and if you think of this ARG as being run by a DM; I think they have a module in mind, but they're laying out the dungeon now, and will start activating events in the coming days...

I think we're on pause until the rest of America starts Googling 10CL and seeing that there's an ARG.

Anyway - you know my MO -- esoteric theories R' me. Very Happy

 		Trailer scoping/scanning - MEW's license plate is blurred - but colors suggest an IL license plate -- BUT -- the final shot says something important. The tree to the left of the house is covered in Spanish Moss, which only grows in coastal areas. JG's character has a bit of a southern lilt.

Swamp Pop is in Louisiana -- Shelter is expensive, which would be true if Howard built it where the state is below sea level. Spanish moss is all over Louisiana and Florida, found mostly in coastal places.

He uses the word 'focus' in the trailer. In the scene we see JG's big head, and a shelf full of things:

Rubber ducks, a plastic horse, salt and pepper shakers - I've plugged these in at the passphrase box over at FAPT, with and without punctuation.

Anyway, what if the Radiogirl is not quite a... girl? If it's an alien or something like this, whom he has rescued from the Soviets, but which was captured by US military (mother)? (in E.T. or Super8 way). And this something communicates with Howard via transmissions? Reread the letter from this perspective.

P.S. And most crazy idea, you will sent me to Psycho Asylum now: what if the Radiogirl is... in the barrel (to keep her alive in a special food supply)? So like, "Michelle, let me introduce (takes Radiogirl with rubber gloves from the barrel): that's my baby girl, she doesn't bite, just reads the thoughts, so take care about what's in your mind". He rescued her from US military at the narrative moment of the movie.

 		Also - for those worried this was a low budget thriller with the Cloverfield logo slapped on it for a cash-grab. Rumors were this movie cost 5 million to make -- if that's true, they just spent 4 additional million for a Super Bowl commercial.

 		Oh cool. Here I am at unFiction again.

I assume that we are to keep checking FAPT until something is added to progress us. That part of the chat seemed somewhat meta, perhaps to buy the puppetmasters time. It has been several days, and usually we solve puzzles if the answers are hidden in the materials we're given. So far, nothing. I'm certain we haven't been given it yet. I could be wrong.

Anyway, fun to be following trails again Smile
